Dave B Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Back in the mid 60's I was lucky enough to see Scuderia Veloce's 250LM (chassis #6321) race at Longford, Tasmania. This is the 250LM now owned by Ralph Lauren (http://www.ralphlaurencarcollection.com/). When I was given an old Academy kit, in need of restoration, there was only one I wanted to build. Tks for looking Dave B
peter31a Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 That is a super sharp little racin' Ferrari! Nice save on that one.
ZIL 111V Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Great work on this pretty basic "Korean" Academy kit....(got one a few years back..tought was too "toy" looking!) Wire wheels are really sharp. Very, very nice work.
Zoom Zoom Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Nice job now why haven't I ever bought or built one? And I passed up one for $10 recently (it was started but very workable)
Matt Bacon Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 That looks brilliant. I didn't really care much for the 250LM until last week, when we found a Corgi Die-cast in the local charity shop for £2.99. Now I _really_ need one of those kits! Especially if it can be made to look like that! The wheels, particularly, look WAAAAY better than I expected... bestest, M.
Jim Gibbons Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Very nice! This is my favorite era of Ferrari sports racers. I wish I could be Ralph Lauren just for a week to play with the cars.
funhouse1 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 (edited) Love that...I was late in loosening up my American muscle car chauvinism, but now any 50's-60's Ferrari really gets me going. Sure wish there were more affordable subjects in this vein. Very nice! This is my favorite era of Ferrari sports racers. I wish I could be Ralph Lauren just for a week to play with the cars. ...Not to mention the models... Edited May 15, 2011 by funhouse1
Dave B Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 Tks guys, like others I opted not to buy one when they were released/re-released. Given the opportunity I will next time as a 'new one' would give me the chance to improve a few things (i.e. It wouldn't have broken rims on the wheels for starters!!) Tks again Dave B
