Of course there was no Rapture (other than Blondie) today......Everyone knows the world won't end until after the Cubs win the World Series......(so we have NOTHING to worry about)

By the way, this is how the next Rapture is going to begin . . . in AREA 51:

Something's been kept secret from us for too long, and then it's broken out . . .

I googled the guy behind all this nonsense... Harold somebody or other... apparently he has made millions on this "world is gonna end" song-and-dance routine of his, via his "ministry" and his radio station! :)

Maybe he meant to say RAPTOR instead of RAPTURE ?

I think he meant a mean bird was coming at 6 O'clock-NOT the end of the earth !!!

By the way, there's a great new book out on AREA 51 I am dying to read this summer, and it deals with all the weirdo stuff that's gone on in AREA 51!

That's the one I was referring to in my post above, about the Russians having sent the phony UFO.

Thanks, Skip. Yes, I heard about it on NPR and I thought it sounded interesting. I want to check it out. I've always loved AREA 51, although the closest I've gotten is White Sands . . . I guess not too many people can get that close. LOL

It has been so secret for so long that there must be a grain of some sort of truth in there somewhere. I haven't read the book, but the Russian theory sounds somewhat plausible. That was a crazy time during the Cold War.

Raptor....Hmm, you might be on to something, maybe this was just a marketing gimmick by Ford to advertise that 4X4 truck.

John Wayne got too close in White Sands. They filmed his movie "The Conqueror" there about Ghengis Khan. It was the site of much nuclear testing. To maintain continuity with the location exteriors, they hauled tons of sand back from there back to the Warner Bros. sound stages in Burbank to duplicate location exteriors. Wayne, co-star Susan Hayward and many of the crew on that movie eventually died of cancer due to the radiation in the sand, and not only from their smoking habits.

Geez, you'd think they could have used a "sand double" just by going to Venice beach and bringing back some... :o

I hate to tell you this - but the Rapture has occurred, @ 6pm as predicted. The problem is, there were so few "good" people, no one really noticed.

Where were the huge earthquakes and the opening graves? It's pretty quiet around here...

The religious folk will probably be in church tomorrow wondering what happened. Some may be dissapointed that the rapture didn't happen.

No actually this preacher is glad it didn't happen.

Gives me more time.

I do NOT know the hour or the day and would not want to.

Maybe that's why my Ford wouldn't start this morning!?!?! Wait, that was at 10:30AM EDT, so it would have been too early, so I guess I just have to fix those darn glowplugs tomorrow. B) I probably had the only diesel in the world that needed the block heater plugged in on an 80 degree day, thanks for the phony balony end story!! :o:blink::huh::o:P

Yeah, that "Jimmy Page" is pretty cute! :D

And the drummer... she's the female version of John Bonham... she sounds just like him!

I agree on Miss "Jimmy", and Miss "John's" form isn't bad either!!!

Now that you mentioned it, The guy that delivered a pizza here a couple of hours ago kind of looked like a zombie. I didn't give him a good tip because he kept trying to bite my arm when I reached out the door to take the pizza......

I like Zepparella ALOT !!

Sad day in the hockey world for sure. The "Rapture" took a pro-destined goaltender in Ian Jenkins. 16 year old 2nd round draft pick of the London Knights OHL team. Some of my friends who I went to school with/played with Ian are having a very tough time. He had a very loving personality too, I wish I knew him. You would have probably seen him in the NHL in 4 or 5 years. Won a National Title with the Honeybaked AAA Midget team (my friend Alex Talcott was on it as well) and was part of the USA Hockey development program (considered best goaltender in the nation)

Not only a sad day in junior hockey and in peoples' lives affected by this, but a loss of a prime prospect who was destined to be in the NHL. May he rest in peace and God's grace be with him and his family.
