Working butterfly doors??! I need to step up my game! :oB)

Romell that is FANTASTIC work you're doing! I wouldn't have thought of creating a fuel splitter like that!

Hmmmm............I need a couple more "pedestrian" builds under my belt, and I'll be back in the super detail mode too. ;)

Hi Romell. I'm back checkin' out your stuff. Since it's been a while, let me catch up on some exclamations.

Whoa !! Kewl !! Outstanding !! Impressive !! Mind boggling !! You made a what out of a WHAT ??!! Do you have a secret stash of elves in your multi-drawer storage bins....and if so, do they each have their own little matchbox beds ? Why isn't there an emoticon of a smiley face at the top of a 3 story building with his jaw dropped to the curb?

Incredible as per usual. I bestow a new title upon you. "Sir Afta of Shox, Lord and Master of Modlebuildingdom, Esq." or words to that effect.

thx again fellas

I worked on the headers today, but I had a brain fart and i had no idea how I was gonna get this done because the tube kept getting wrinkles in them, So I slept on it and it hit me , use brass rod instead of tube so heres the pics to show you how the problem was solved.

here you can see the tubing just didn't want to do it my way

exhaustheaders002.jpg

here you see the solid brass rod this is .014 rod by the way

exhaustheaders003.jpg

once i was able to get the bend i wanted the rest was a down hill run , here you see the bent rod and the cut tube tips im gonna solder on the ends, and the lines are for cut off.

exhaustheaders006.jpg

The tips have been soldered on and im ready to move forward

exhaustheaders009.jpg

the pipes are all cleaned up are ready for assembly which i will do in the next section cause I'm limited to 5 photos be right back

Thanks Romell, I appreciate the kind words about my builds.... I was thinking about making the butterflies work when I started this build and it has been on the back on my mind. Hey man those headers are looking good. I had picked up a couple sizes of aluminum tubing that I wanted to make my headers out of for my funny car. Haven't started on them yet but have the material and ready to make them. Keep up the great work.

Finally we have something in common !! I used brass tubing in MY headers to add weight to my LA Dart motor. I'm not a solderer, but you get the idea. Right, I'm really reaching here, aren't I? lol

I've never got around to trying this yet, but for bending aluminum tubing, would it work to insert two peices of brass rod until they meet where you want the bend, then apply pressure until desired angle? Might help to use a jig. It works in my mind, which BTW, should scare everybody on the board. Think I'll give it a try this afternoon. If you see reports of a major explosion in Las Vegas, that's my experiment blowing up on me.

The only problem I see with that is, how do you get the inserted rod out of the tube once you have it bent? :)

Just curious: What's with up emoticon's? Are they socially frowned upon here? Do people use them to the point of being annoying? Did you have an unpleasant emoticon experience as a child?

Just wondering..... and kidding scratchchin.gif

Romell... Nice work on the calipers and seat. Gotta ask you what size RB Motion A/N fittings are you using for your brake lines? I have been going back and forth on using either part no. 1520ST 0.020" dia line or part no. 1521ST 0.025" dia. line but am leaning towards the 0.025" line. Cant wait to see more progress on this.

One of these days, you'll figure out how to put nitro in a plastic engine. When that happens, the rest of us are toast.

Keep on Romell, Keep on...........
