jcbigpaw Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I have a 55 Chevy that I'd like to enter for this CBP. I pulled it out of my boneyard and will be doing a gasser. This is going to be a quick and simple build to get me motivated again. Heres a pic of it pieced together for a general idea of what I'm shooting for. .
Chuck Most Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I'm leaning toward a kind of Slo-Tourer style- I'll work around the lack of interior parts by doing a scratchbuilt street-rod style interior. For power I'm leaning toward a Ford Terminator mill, and a low-slung chassis with at least some 18" wheels.
Nate Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Chuck, you could use this Nash floor logo as a display base. It's the floor of the ground floor of my office in downtown Dallas. It was a Nash dealership back in the day...
imatt88 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 (edited) Hey all, I finally borrowed a camera and took some pics... Update on my glue bomb rebuilds The Duesenbergs The '65 GP The Modelhaus '66 GP More to follow......................... Edited January 8, 2012 by imatt88
imatt88 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 And some more......... An MPC '27 Lincoln that I didn't originally list And the MPC '67 Bonneville ragtop Still a lot of finishing work to do, foiling, small parts engines, etc... Hope you guys like them... Cheers, Ian
jcbigpaw Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Here is another one I believe this the Duesenberg Town Car(?) Anyway, this one is a little farther down the list, but it will be rebuilt This is the kind of stuff I'm looking for in my trade post..(yes, a shameless plug ) Enjoy Cheers, ian Recently watched Spinout with Elvis Presley again. They use an old Duesenberg as a tow vehicle for a Shelby Cobra race car. Quite a sight.
wgflatliner Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I might jump in on this. I came in to work to find that somebody had anonymously put these on my desk. No notes or anything. They smell like they've been in a damp shed. The person who attempted it apparently was in over their head. They started gluing it together with no paint and massive amounts of glue. Glue bomb? More like glue nuke! First up is the prowler. It's damaged beyond repair to make it look good, so I'm going to use it for a prop in the zombie thread and make it a crashed car. Over all shot Front suspension completely trashed and window frame bent. Glue bombed interior. The shiny is the glue. No idea what they were thinking but they destroyed a wheel. And the engine The impala is in the same condition sadly.
jcbigpaw Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Here's one from the parts box I've been wanting to redo. I've mocked it up as a gasser. I was able to find most of the original parts to start with. I've actually gotten a lot done prior to posting this so heres some updated pics. Finished pics soon.
TurboKitty Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 wow you guys have gotten a lot done since I checked this thread last year LOL. I still have my '66 Riviera, but not much has changed with it. I will try to find the pics of when I bought it, I think I moved them into a different folder on photobucket so they got deleted off of here but I'll try to put them back on. I am going to start working on it again so that I can finally have my first finished model of the year . Nice job guys!
jcbigpaw Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Here's a few pics of the finished gasser. I just kept it simple, didn't even wire the engine. I did whip up a custom firewall from a scrap I found sealing a tin of cashews. The kit wall was pretty much non-existing and booooring. And you gotta love personalized plates thanks to Acme plate maker. Almost all my models have em. Luv it! Okay, that's done. NEXT! Gotta keep the momentum going.
David G. Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) I know that this a bit of an old thread, but I just got around to taking some pics of my finished 63 Chevy. Thanks for taking the time to look! David G. Edited January 12, 2013 by David G.

CorvairJim Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 That is some very impressive work, Dan. I have to admit, I got a real laugh out of " '49 Ford #3", and it's "Restoration"! I'll have to post a few of my older Glue Bomb restorations myself when I have more time.
59 Impala Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Thanks Jim, and they all were a lot of fun to rebuild believe me. I really enjoyed re-working them. Dan

59 Impala Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Nice saves Jim. I really like the Corvairs. I had one of the 4dr's when I was a kid. I have no idea of what happened to it. That was too many years ago. Dan

jcbigpaw Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I have been enjoying this thread a great deal. I just realized that it's coming up on twelve months since we started this topic and it was set to run a year. I'd vote to keeping it going indefinitely. I've got two more I'm pulling out of the boneyard right now.
