Old Coyote Posted July 16, 2011 Author Posted July 16, 2011 WOW John, that is a thing of beauty!!! Is the main body 'glass, or original steel? I see you have an HHR also The main body is steel ........ we had to replace all the sheet metal under the belt line as the body had been acid dipped to reduce weight (back in its drag racing days) ....... also had to fabricate a roof insert from sheet steel ......... the nose is a Fiberglas Trends tilt unit and the rear doors are the factory aluminum Yes, we have an HHR LS ....... really cute little car ........ we got it when gasoline got above $4.00 a gallon ........ really do like it
Old Coyote Posted July 16, 2011 Author Posted July 16, 2011 Beautiful! How do you drive it on the street with no plates? The license plate (North Carolina only requires a rear plate) is on a hinged hideaway mount ......... turn the ignition on and the plate rotates down between the wheelie bars and underneath the chute pack
gasser59 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Now that is a thing of real beauty!! Gorgeous. I love everything about it except that its in N. Carolina and not here in my Phoenix driveway.
Rick Bennett Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Wow is the only word beautiful workmanship
Jantrix Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I really do like this. It would be equally at home on a cruise or trearing up the quarter on a Saturday night. Well done.
72 Charger Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Wow that Thames is VERY RARE even over here in blighty . Well done on a tough restoration
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 WOW!!! There is one of those driving around here, but yours puts it to shame!
