1950 Cadillac "Purple Haze"

I picked up one of Modelhaus's 1950 Cadillacs and WOW nice casting. I am doing a mild Kustom so I shaved off the usual stuff to make it smooth. Doors,emblems,back up lights,smoothed the hood and filled in the slot for the hood slot. The kit comes with the solid axles molded into the resin so I knocked them out and dropped the whole car down @ 1/8". I am using HOK PBC4002 Violette pearl with white base, airbrushed and clear coated with PPG clear. Then I will wet sand the whole car and reapply a real wet thin coat of clear.

He just came out with this car this year. I got mine at NNL East. I think it was around 80 bucks. I think this is one of his best castings to date. I was really impressed with it.

Hi Ted! I believe it's been out for a month or two..........Don lists it for $88 in his catalog. I saw it up close and personal at the NNL East and it's a beautiful casting!

The body was mastered by Paul Hettick aka Robbbbbb57 on eBay, so you know it's well done!

The casting looks to be of the usual, superb quality that Modelhaus is famous for, which is why they're first on my list to go to!

That is a very cool kit and model you are building. Jimmy Flintstone will have a 51 coupe de ville later this year. It is very similar but will have Dagmars on the front bumpers.

Nice job on the Caddy! I think this is the perfect application for this kit, especially since it looks like it has a mild top chop right out of the box.
