mademan
I know that Lots of People on this forum have a bad attitude about Lowriders, so Ill start off by saying that this is a lowrider build. That being said, I have started with a StreetBurners Monte Carlo SS, and a Jevries Resin LS conversion kit, consisting of bumpers front and back, grille, headlight buckets and lenses, and rear tail lights. I have started by properly fitting and securing the bumpers, and cutting out the trunk, removing the spoiler and jambing it all up. Still working on the Jamb, gotta mold it a bit more, and make it flow, but im working off lots of reference pics. reworkin the interior, LS style Im almost done spending time on the trunk jamb. A bit more filling and sanding is needed to be where I want. Im happy with it overall quick mock up to see how it looks. the cnc machined valve covers are not a right fit for this motor
mademan
I will update this topic as I progress, I work away from home for a week at a time, then home , then away every other week. All of the suspension, exhaust, etc. has been sent out for chrome, as well as other small detail stuff.
mademan
billet pumps and dumps, with Fineline Engineering photo-etch backing plates ( long out of production)
exnyman
Looking good so far, always liked the Monte LS models. Where did the front seat come from? I am building a replica of my 1:1 1980 monte Carlo which has a bench seat with a very similar pattern. The kit has buckets so I really want to match it to my real car. Six-Fo
Nice work bro, love to see some of the Jev's resin clips in build! I'm a lowrider fan myself (Siim123 in layitlow) Edited July 30, 2011 by Six-Fo

prostockmania
Likewise, I'd like to see all the LS conversion parts layed out, and where to get them.
mademan
they were made by a friend overseas.... i believe he only cast 35 sets in his first run, and less in the second. I am not sure that he is actually casting any more,b but his site is: http://www.jevriesblog.com/index/monte-carlo-ls-conversion-kit-finished- I will post some layed out pics later on tonight, minus the grille as it is at the chromers. Modlbldr
I'm liking it so far. There ain't nothing wrong with low riders. They have some of the most elaborate custom paint jobs. I hope to do a few myself someday. Later-
charlie8575
I might have to grab one of those LS conversions. To make the interior 100% accurate, you need to make it a notchback bench seat. Cut the area above and behind the armrest out. The upholstery pattern is about right for a Monte, so that's all set. I wonder if anyone offers a set of wire wheel covers for this so I could build a stock car? I'll watch this to see how the end product looks. Romell R
I know that Lots of People on this forum have a bad attitude about Lowriders, Sorry but i haven't seen anyone with a bad attitude about low riders on this forum I think you may have us mistaken for those other guys. And that's a bad way to get started on a topic. You want to be inviting , not seeming that you don't care about others opinion. Just my view. Oh and good start on what should be an excellent project! exnyman
Hey there, bench seat came from a revell snaptite caprice police car kit, also came as a taxi Thanks for the info, I have a few of them in my stash but never looked that closely at the seat! Actually, it looks like the interior tub from the Revell Monte is closer to what my '80 has as far as seat/side panel material, than the actual 80 kit interior. I was just reading a topic before posting this, where someone said "good thing you didnt put stupid gold wire wheels on it and lowride it" etc. I build for my own pleasure, but I was asked by another member to post this build up here, so that he could watch it. I generally dont post my builds up here, due to people getting worked up over me "cutting up" and "wrecking" rare johan kits and promos. I could post up some of the pms that ive gotten from angry viewers, lol. I am sorry if I offended you, I was placing a warning to those that might get bent out of shape. Oh ok i got ya, I didn't take offense, I just wanted to warn you about those who might tho , I build lower riders too, (well used to) and I know that the majority of the builders here can appreciate a build no matter what it is. Keep up the good work. Oh and dont worrie about those guys that get mad about the rare Johan kits , cause just what is a model kit? its a box of plastic untill someone builds it and turns it into a work of art.
