All things considered detail wise, from what I've read about the way they build cars for the TV Series, you could have a '70 Charger shell (with doors and trunk lid off anything from a '68-'70) with '68 front fenders and either a stock '68 grill with a fabricated grill splitter (I have read that somewhere, just can't remember where) or a "proper" '69 grill that was used for one of the stunt vehicles and technically that might still be accurate

Question for you accuracy fanatics- What color blue is that on the inner fenders and firewall? I want to be sure that I am correct for fear of being scolded here on the forum.

Looks like it "might" be B5 Blue, but don't quote me on that :P

You would have to get in touch with the studio, they owned the cars. Maybe they could help you track down where they all went. But so many years after the fact, I'd bet that all of the General Lees have either been sold or thrown in the crusher a long time ago.

I think Harry is right here, most of them have either been scrapped or given away by/purchased from WB a long time ago for the TV cars, not sure about the movies cars though. I do know somebody locally who it stilling a 318 powered clone for $20k though....seems like it should have a lot more than just a 318, but all things considered, that is as "accurate" as a 440 and probably more so than a Hemi

that brings up a question !

how would you go about being able to find out and maybe purchase one of the vehicles that was in the back lot say for instence i want a general lee movie car if one still exist? is there any restrictions owning one and what .... i would love to get any and all info on this subject .... lets just say im chasing dreams!

You'd probably be better off finding a 69-70 charger and building your own clone. There are plenty of ways to do it, and experienced custom shops, that are on the Internet. Otherwise, you would be into even bigger (REALLY BIGGER) money to retain a reputable dealer such as Fantasy Junction or The Auto Collections to seek and negotiate for you for anything that's close to a real studio car. In any case, you'll easily be pushing into six figures.

That engine bay in blue.... that is probably from a stunt mule. You could paint your engine bay blue. Or paint it green. Or orange. At one time or another, they probably had several of each! For the most part, EACH JUMP = a totaled car. The prop crews didn't bother to paint or detail anything that wasn't called for in the script to be viewed. If the hood wasn't to be opened, why would they care?

So you know, all the cars they used on the show, was painted orange right over the factory colors on the exterior with doors an hoods ect close. There is a few episodes where they have the hoods up and at times the engine bays wasn't black at all like the story line had. The engine bays was what ever color the car was from factory mostly. A stunt car had all it's stuff removed that it didn't need for the stunt. This mean almost all wiring of lights was cut and the wiring and lights was all removed from the car. The turn signals in some of the episodes you could clearly see was removed all together. Heck some of the stunt cars even had there upper part where the door panel would go cut clean out to get the stuff out of the door. The photo that was posted was probably from one the 1st unit cars. They had when the show went back to CA, had 7 cars on hand mostly, and 3 cars on set/site per episode in case one car didn't run they use another one. Not all the cars on the show ran, there would be at times where Bo & Luke would run out and jump in the General and go to start it and it wouldn't start. They had to use a chain to pull the car off screen at times because they would not run at times.

Now if the scene called for the hood up, they would get one of the cars that they had painted the engine bay black on to do that very scene mostly. But there was episodes where the engine bay wan't black though but at times white and other colors.
