The Modeling Hermit Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 My main transportation is a 2006 Specialized bicycle. My play vehicle is a 78 Ford F150.
lordairgtar Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 (edited) The Interceptor is a Ford badge they put on their police Crown Vics. GM didn't put special badges on the Caprice cop cars. It is the real deal though, complete with the iron-headed LT1 engine, heavier frame, stiffer suspension, etc. Since I took that pic I have installed Impala SS springs and KYB shocks, it sits about 2-3" lower now. David But Pontiac did in the seventies. They were called Enforcers http://www.abodysite.com/enforcer.html Edited May 17, 2008 by lordairgtar
Guest Davkin Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Here's the first piece to my 1:1 model project; It's a 1931 or 32 Chevy pickup cab with the roof cut off. I'll be turning it into a roadster pickup hot rod. I just picked up a '39 Ford front axle/spindles/wishbone for it today too. David
Nick F40 Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 The performance icon, automotive apogee and general chick magnet that could only be the 1992 Nissan Stanza. But, for ten years it was this. I want another one. I love Rancheros as my uncle has a 65, I'll have to post some up. HEY now, you know DARN well, that Stanza is a hot car! I love any old Ford, that 78 F-150 is probably nice. How much for the Falcon?
Kombi Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I'm afraid our daily drivers are mostly mundane. My wife drives an '04 Civic LX Sedan in dark metallic gray. (I don't believe it's a stretch to say you've probably seen one exactly like it) I drive an '02 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon in silver (see below). It's currently sitting in the garage at the moment on jack-stands as I forgot a fairly important part (ahem, the upper spring seats) for the front struts, but it should be back on the road by next weekend. Sadly, I have no project cars to share. I've got too many ideas and not enough focus currently, so I've avoided making such a purchase.
Nick F40 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 hey hey, I love Scooby wagons, those wheels look nice on that. Anything done to it?
Kombi Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Well thanks, there's really not too much going on with my Legacy. In fact, this wasn't supposed to be a project car at all. My plan was to just leave it be, but there seems to be another force compelling me to modify. The only things I've got right now are a K&N panel, aluminum front skid plate, short throw shift lever, and the wheels. My current project is installing the KYB shocks and struts with some H&R springs. Which if not for my own foolishness, would be done by now.
abedooley Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 (edited) I'm lovin all the muscle, work in progress, and the totally sentimental cars, trucks, and what the hell was that, that everyone has shown on here. Now its time for something laid-back, something fun, and something I had TOO much fun in! First up is my new/old baby! A 1993 Buick Roadmaster. This thing has ALL the bells and whistles. Everything is power. It has a big 350 S.B. Chevy V8 that can ,and does, turn over them there stock aluminum hubcap wires. This thing is THE ultimate cruiser! Its like ridin' on a cloud. BIG car for a BIG guy! Next up is my (really its the ol' ladies, but it was mine on this day) '98 Blazer. It was alot of fun until I got carried away and tore the tranny and transfer case out of it. Can anyone say DUKES OF HAZARD??!! I thought I was a dead man! That was the most quietly miserable ride home I ever spent in a truck. If I was out with my other redneck buddies and she wasnt, it would have been funny all the way home. She still gets upset when someone brings it up. That happened nearly 2 years ago! Last but not least, is my favorite lil' corner grabber. I rode this poor lil' honda so rough I went through 2 motors, a complete under body, ball joints (TWICE!), motor mounts (TWICE!), then I tore out the old suspensoin and slapped on EIBACH springs and shocks, cold air intake, and larger injectors and drove the WWHHHHEEEE!!!!! out of it until I blew up the radiator, head gasket, and warped the aluminum head! Still have the suspensoin kit if anyone is interested. Only had about 2,000 miles on the kit before I tore it down and junked it. ABE DOOLEY IF YA AINT WRECKED IT, YA AINT DROVE IT! Nick F40 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Man, you are one special man to have done THAT to the Honda, you are even surprising the Honda company guys! Nice project so far. and the wife had to ruin the fun!
abedooley Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Man, you are one special man to have done THAT to the Honda, you are even surprising the Honda company guys! Nice project so far. and the wife had to ruin the fun! I could see her when I was rompin the blazer and the look on her face when I hit that hole and came out of it Dukes Of Hazard style was absolutely priceless!! Too bad I couldnt enjoy it in front of her!! The Roadmaster is my baby though! I hardly drive her often. Its a mean machine for being a grandpa's cruiser! I thought about painting the honda orange and putting a rebel flag on top and naming it the "GENERAL HONDA"! HAHA!! I had alot of fun in that lil' ol' honda. She took about 7 years of hell from me. I still hear it go "beep beep" sometimes! Poor Honda. I never even named 'er.

duffer Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 03 Subaru Outback... which I'm hoping to trade in shortly on an 07 Mustang. Then there's this old thing... 64 Galaxie, 3rd owner, mostly origonal. Wow...what a beautiful car. Love it, love it, love it. The stance, the wheels, the paint - perfect! OK, so a few from me: Two toys, but ones a daily driver. Number one is a Porsche Spyder replica built by me over about 6 years. I've run a 13.4 quarter with stock 165 tires and a mild 1776 Type1 VW engine. The Elise is pretty stock, but runs Series 2 suspension, uprated discs and pads, with a few engine mods. The best ET so far? 13.4 (again)! Toy three: Kawasaki Drifter. Bought it dirt cheap for a laugh on eBay - it had never seen rain and is still immaculate. Expected to keep it for a short while and chop it for somethiing else, but fell in love with it and will never let it go.

I don't know how I missed it before, you just don't see '32 Chevy rods very often, but I'm noticing them a lot more now that I've started one. I considering doing mine up vintage speedster style but with a modern four cylinder engine. David

Thanks for the vid-link nick. Well, you are CERTAINLY welcome, and how ever old your son is, that's awsome he loves it. I love that video along with the one when he's taking his friends for a ride and near the end the horn...PERFECT, now would they be rednecks just in an Audi 80? But yeah the raw power and the just......orgasmic sound is what I like. That shows what I'm into a bit, my taste in a sense and I'm glad you like it. See, you can have fun with those cars! David, you haven't been to to many Street Rod Nationals have you? I saw a good amount of good rats there. Don't worry I got pics!
Uncle Mike Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 I've got some pics, but am wrestling with how to post 'em! '55 Ford F100 pickup, had it since '70, got it for $60.
