i remember driving a beaten down 1.4 16 valve opel E kadett (same as the 1990s pontiac lemans) down the german autobahn

i had then engine pinned and was going flat out as fast as that car would roll

i was in the right hand lane passing by cars that were doing 80, 90 or so

keeping an eye on my mirrors i noticed a teeny tiny speck in my rear view mirror

i glanced at my speedo to see the needle pegged at 120 MPH

i looked back at my rear view mirror and there is a mercedes about 3 inches from my rear bumper

i slid over into the slow lane (where i belonged) still doing 120 MPH and the mercedes blew past me like i was standing stilll

i think i walked away with a new respect for the fast lane

This reminds me of a story my grandfather told me. In the middle 50's he got a job in New Jersey (we live in Pa) and he would drive there on Sunday nights and stay over and come home on Friday nights for the weekend. He still had his first car at the time which was a 1950 Buick super, and he had my uncle install an air horn under the hood just for fun. One of the friday nights when he was coming home late at night, and was going pretty fast in the left passing lane when he came upon some guy fooling around and going slow in that lane. My grandfather blew the air horn and scared the guy out of his mind because he thought it was a tractor trailer behind him and he moved back in the right lane very fast and my grandfather got home quicker that night.

what if we just put everyone back in the old ford pintos?

then, if they are stupid enough to be going slow in the fast lane we can just give them a little love tap on the rear bumper and watch the problem solve itself

If you ask me if you are going the speed limit or faster, you should be able to be in any lane. What I hate are the idiots who, while you are passing a line of traffic feel the need to tailgate you and flash their lights because they feel you aren't passing people fast enough. Tailgating people at 75MPH is stupid and reckless!

That should be on the border of Ohio and West Virginia. The Ohio drivers have such a bad reputation with driving in West Virginia, about five years ago a legislator submitted a bill requiring Ohio drivers to submit to random driving tests.......No kidding. It was withdrawn before it could come to vote due to fear it would have passed.

Is that for Real...seriously...i ask, Just Wondering.... if so where is it Located?...Oh Well Cheers to all

i Only wish it was for real, It sure does need to be.

I drive with the 1 simple rules.

If your faster than me, you may pass.

Slower than me, Shut your mouth and eat my dust...

I'm amazed that even in a 70mph zone, people still drive 55..

If your sooo insecure about your driving, stay home!!!!

and a few other choice words..

I'll post this where ever I can....

Thanks..

Here in New Jersey, the problem is compounded. NJ is a "Keep Right, Pass Left" state....that is the law, even though most drivers ignore it.....signs are posted, especially at the entrance points to the state on major roadways. But, New York and Pennsylvania, and a few other local states do not have such a law. When those drivers come over to NJ, they constantly get into the left lane, drive slow and gum up the roadways. For this to be effective, the laws must be standardized and enforced......fat chance of that happening.

My driving night-mare is one of two things.......1......I hate minivans......honestly....Minivans need to be outlawed from 7:00am to 6:00pm as they serve only one purpose that I can see.......getting in the left lane, slowing down traffic to a crawl and then make me watch the little "baby on board" yellow sign rocking in the rear window. And.....2.....I hate being stuck behind that little Nissan Sentra that has no visible driver......you know the car.....you have to squint real hard to see two little hands on the steering wheel, but no head in front of the headrest......... how is this car moving? remote control? I will never understand it....and they always find a way to get in front of me....then I do something stupid......I pull out and attempt a pass and run straight into a radar trap.....or even worse, I pass the Sentra and end up behind a Minivan on its way to soccer practice.............I am doomed here in suburban New Jersey........I need the desert west of Vegas.
