Dr. Cranky Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Folks, it's always great to see what people are still driving, in particular when it comes to the classics . . . hope that, like me, you carry your camera with you at all times . . . because you never know what you will spot sitting pretty in the middle of a city. Case in point, this beauty I found in Miami just parked nowhere special . . . enjoy.

my66s55 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 You've got to be kidding me, right. I go out to my garage and there it is. The car I use as my daily, if need be , transportation. My 66 s55 Mercury rag top. Granted, I get quite a bit of attention around town on my jaunts. i.e. what year is it? What is it? Does it really have a 428 in it? Or. is it for sale? Nope
Dr. Cranky Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 It's great to know a lot of these classics are safe and in good hands.
my66s55 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 O' Cranky one. Doesn't Igor ever let you sleep?

FASTBACK340 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) Every now and then someone drives a land-bound ballistic missile to the local speed shop..... Edited August 21, 2011 by FASTBACK340
FASTBACK340 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I spotted this parked in someone's driveway.
FASTBACK340 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 How about having a Ferrari Maranello (I think...) and a Porsche GT pass you? This is like a million or so dollars cruising on the Southern State Parkway, which driving on is similar to qualifying at Darlington.
FASTBACK340 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I spotted this parked in someone's driveway between Brickerville and Stevens, Pa. It's a tandem 2 seater and had no visible markings, nor could I see what was in it power train wise. I was trespassing to get these shots! Anybody know what the Hell it is?!?

Except for the regular cars, looks like a regular day on the road here...

I've been to San Diego (my favorite place besides Coronado...) & the L.A. area so I know exactly what you mean. LOTS of neat stuff in daily traffic. But to see these cars out in rush hour traffic is a very brave decision out here. VERY brave....

Jantrix Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I spotted a 66/67 fastback Charger today at a local auto shop that usually has a little old iron in the parking lot. It was a 383 badged car and it had a LOT of rust. Nearly made me cry. And not the "it gives it character, a little patina" kind of rust. It had the "you-know-you-hit-the-cat-because-you-saw-it-as-it-passed-beneath-you" kind of rust. Darn shame how people will let the car sit in the "i'll get to it someday" section of the yard until it's no longer restorable.
