Bob, if words are misspelled, they are in red underscore. I'm using Firefox 6.0 and that's how it shows up on my end if something is spelled wrong.

Right click on the red underscored word and the correct one will show up (several perhaps). Now one has to KNOW the correct usage to still pick the right word! :P

Or if you're really serious about getting your spelling right you can write your post in Word or some other program that has a good spell check feature, then copy and paste to your post here.

Of course, someone as well-versed in the English language and all of its nuances as I am doesn't need to do that...

"Elements of Style". I know what that is. It has something to do with how a model looks with what ever you use to change how it looks. Right? As fer spellin wurds write I do all the time in my book. So loosen up and enjoy the hobby. Quit comlpainin about the little stuf. Have fun dudes and wear's the moticons that you guys use? I kneed them bad. LOL. Have a nice day and build somethin enstead of complainin. Lt. Dayan

How come there isn't a spellcheck button in the newly updated/upgraded posting window?

Because it would deteriorate from neglect. If you were to believe some in here, spelling doesn't matter.

Mr. Geary,

Thank you so much for your input as far as the missing button. My hat is off to you,two times, once for being more computer oriented and also for being a dynamite modeller.

No, he also showed up to pour more gasoline on the fire when somebody lost it and flamed me.

Don't feel like the lone ranger; guess we're both on his 'favorites' list!

If one doesn't use perfect spelling and grammar they are not welcome on this forum?

I can't believe this thread has gotten this far and nobody has yet pointed out the pronoun-antecedent disagreement in the original post.

1. You just did.

2. Sometimes somethings are just too obvious.

3. Good job!

It would, if you guys would stop making posts.

Excellent observation Harry! ;)

oops! Guess I didn't make the same one!

While I agree, YOU also have the power to stop it.

I hate to lock threads; it seems so authoritarian. As long as people aren't savagely attacking each other, I say let the members decide for themselves whether a thread is worth their time or not. If members find the thread useless, they'll stop posting and it will drop down the page and soon disappear. But as long as people keep posting about how upset they are that a particular thread is still going on, all they're doing is helping the thread live another day. ;)

You're perfectly free to completely ignore this thread if you find it offensive, boring, inane, stupid or whatever. Yet you keep posting here and that just prolongs it.

BTW... very clever with the "hidden" message... but the mod sees all... :D

If I were a employer, and someone filled out a application or resume the way some write here on the forum, in NO way would I hire them. Being able to communicate in written form should be a key thing.I feel the way some write here is plain inconsideration and laziness.

If employers would have thought that way in 1941 we would have lost the war because they would not have been able to build those impliments of war that we needed immediately for lack of "acedemically qualified" workers!!

Why is it that most people writing in this thread seem to be in impeccable command of the English language?

There are a few typos, but apart from those, I only see very good spelling and grammar in here.
