Danno Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Mixed feelings Dan? Yes. No. I mean, maybe. No. Yes. Well, kinda. I'm just not sure. For sure!
sjordan2 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Part of the probv Part of the problem, though, Jon, as I see it, as that this could pretty easily be used as a tool for mischief and has the potential to create yet more drama. For example ... I open a topic, post a long rant about how badly I think Jon Cole sucks (and I don't think that, BTW; just making a point here ) then lock the topic ... you then have no means by which to respond other than open ANOTHER topic about how badly Ken Hart sucks ... and on and on it goes ... Besides, as I think someone else already mentioned ... why are you bothering to post in a public forum if you don't want feedback? The whole thing is just seriously nonsensical ... That's why we have moderators. God rest their souls and may they find peace on earth.
philo426 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Wow!its gotten to the point that some members would lock out the rest of the member just to avoid trollish comments! Not cool at all!
Nova-ss Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Its ok to me...but I don't understand how it works.I would hate to make a post and not understand and get kicked off cause I didn't understand.I enjoy coming here and seeing all there is to see and talking with others.i know there are trouble makes that make trouble just to make it.I don't ever see any of the stuff going on that others are unhappy about.beside everyone has a oppinion about everything.its ok...it don't hurt me,what ever they say if it is bad or wrong.I would like some kind how to so I don't make a mistake.Thank ya,Chris
XJ6 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Why would anybody want to post a build and not want feedback? To me it's all part of the learning experience. What if Joe Blow used a really neat part or a new procedure? How are we supposed to find out what that part or procedure is? We'd have to ask in a new topic/thread and get dealt with - with no warning. Doesn't sound good to me. I guess an option could be to PM the original poster and ask the person to update their post to include additional information. I agree Feed back is what it's all about....of course "Only when done so in a friendly and proper manner" to say the least
Gregg Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 Ken, if anyone does what you think they will do, they will be banned, deleted, and purged. So if you have over 1,000 posts, and do something like that, you will everything you ever had here, good or bad. And only the person who started the topic can close it. No one can close someone else's topic unless they are mods/admin
Harry P. Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Doesn't the idea of letting people post topics and then immediately lock them, thereby basically insuring a "one way" conversation, run counter to the whole idea of what a "forum" is supposed to be all about? It's like having a "debate" where person A gets to state his side but person B isn't allowed to reply.
Eric Stone Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Doesn't the idea of letting people post topics and then immediately lock them, thereby basically insuring a "one way" conversation, run counter to the whole idea of what a "forum" is supposed to be all about? Kinda like turning a forum into a photo album...
Romell R Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 This is great now the guys who don't want criticism on their builds don't have to deal with it if they don't want to. Anyone who leaves the thread open is inviting criticism on the build. ingenious I tell ya.
sportandmiah Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Good grief people. Don't use the function if you don't like it. The end.
Jon Cole Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 All this will do is cause more problems / issues / rants / whining / hurt Feelings.... Which will lead to more work for the Moderators / Admin.... *sigh* Mike, that stamp works! But I don't use it here. With so many 'issues' going on here, I don't need the hassles.
