Jordan White Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I started this project with the old Aoshima Nissan Terrano Low Rider kit that I got off e-bay. I basically converted it from a 1991-1995 5-door model into a 1987-1990 3-door model. I also gave it what I like to call a "redneck lift kit". Basically this entails adding some rear coil spring extensions out of "pipe", making some new control arms, and making a new cradle for the front suspension and differential housing. I also had to modify the torsion bars to get them at the angle I wanted. Interior is stock except I converted the dash to LHD (basically had to cut it into 5 pieces and reassemble it) and I had to add seatbacks (why it doesn't have any, I don't know.) The exterior got all the addons that came with the kit, minus the running boards and mudflaps. I decided to give it a two-tone similar to factory, with black and bright red along with a gold stripe to separate the colors. Wheels are from the kit, and they fit perfect in a set of resin-rubber tires I got from Ma's Resins.
scubadiver411 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 THAT IS SWEET !! IT LOOKS GOOD WITH THE LIFT KIT !! THE BOX ART LOOKS PRETTY COOL ALSO...
Dr. Cranky Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 That's a very clean, well-built ride . . . nice subject matter and a perfect addition to any collection.
LAone Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 hardly see these being built up. came out great.
RodneyBad Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Great looking PathFInder Conversion is Really nice.. I Likie..
Skydime Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 The two door conversion on the body looks great.
Jordan White Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 You know it's funny, I'm surprised how well the 2-door conversion actually did turn out. I was having trouble getting the bondo to sand flat the right way and I didn't think the paint would make it look as smooth as I thought it was. Of course, I'm glad that I was at least able to get the positioning of the slanted pillar correct, since that's important for the look. I found a picture of one other person who did this on the 'net and they had the pillar too far forward.
gray07 Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Looks awesome, i love it that you made it a 2 door, i like the lines on that one better. I have always liked the back side windows.
charlie8575 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Very nicely done, Jordan. Charlie Larkin
Dominik Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Now i see, that you built a 2-door, didn't seen it on the box. Wow - thats great! Well done! I like the colors with the golden trim. They play good together, the colors. Very Nice!
Tonioseven Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I really like it!! it looks better lifted than it does on the box art. Great build.
