Dr. Cranky Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I don't know how many of you have seen this, but I found it very interesting . . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cL9AZ995BBI&feature=feedlik
crazyjim Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 How cool! My HOK meteor maroon '32 5 window coupe made it twice - once at 1:20 right side, and then again at 1:29 in my garage diorama. I'm going to have to try and save a copy of that video you posted, Dr. Cranky. I was having a bad day because I wasn't satisfied with the paint on my '39 Chevy (it's in the purple pond right now), but now I'm in 2nd heaven. Autographs will be available at the SE Street Rod Nationals in Tampa next month .
Ryan S. Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Thanks for posting Doc. That was cool to see.
Foxer Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Thanks for that as I was unable to catch it on the tube.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 Congrats to the winners. Also, I am sure they were measuring the green hot rod for the show, not to really make a model copy of it, although they might.
MikeMc Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 (edited) Sgt Clay and I were talking about it.....@3:21.....Thats Ed Sexton and Roger Harney....Doing the Pictures and Rumour is that the rat Roaster will be done in LARGE scale....look up front..looks like a 1/8th Deuce... I have the whole show on DVR.....they mention that this is how they do 1/25 scale ....BUT look at that Big Deuce kit at the end........YEAH!!!!!! Edited September 20, 2011 by MIKE THE MANIAC

My daughter lives in Auburndale and she might take the kid's to the show. They wanna see what Grandpa does at a model contest. Gratz on the recognition.
crazyjim Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 No problem, Joe. Go on over to www.mags.name for more info. There's probably more info on the 1:1 stuff at the National Street Rod Association website. I'll be around there all weekend wearing a neon green T-shirt that has FAST on the front and Florida Auto & Scale Trucks Model Club on the back. Trust me, she won't be able to miss the shirt. You didn't say anything about an autograph though. What's up with that?
Art Anderson Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 We had Ken Leslie's '49 Merc Custom at the Goodguys Model Car Contest at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this past weekend--awesome OOB build that one! Art
Greg Myers Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 A couple of things got my attention. First "3 months to 3 years" ? and lastly, yes, the 1/8th scale deuce. Come on, we've got enough of those. I think (just my opinion here) all the work they've put into their 1/25 line of '32's would dictate a 1/25th scale kit.

Dr. Cranky Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 I agree, they should be able to do several scales from one take, no?
Scale-Master Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Anyone else notice how ham handedly Stacy holds and handles the car model? I know I read he builds models somewhere, but wouldn't a builder handle a model a bit more like a model and less like a block of wood?
Dr. Cranky Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 I thought about that, but I think that's a diecast they put on there, I hope so . . . or his models all have fingerprints on them. LOL.
Scale-Master Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I thought it might be die-cast too, but you handle/work with both mediums don't you? Do you hold die-casts like a 3 year hold holds a toy, or more like you hold a car model? Seems like it may be one of those gaffs a non-modeler might make...? Just an observation.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 You definitely have a point, although EYEGORE had been known to sit on the floor and roll his die casts across the room, all along drooling over how nice some diecasts are!
Draggon Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 That was pretty interesting! I did take notice when Stacy said "pretty soon you can build your own version of the rat roaster right out of the box". Ive gotta say, tho, that I think Kirby's turquoise channeled 32 five window should have won.
