The body is decent for the plain version. The other body kitted ones aren't accurate. And the tires especially are for ###### in all the kits.

Apart from the Enthusiast Series, there have been a few where they threw resin engines in. IIRC an AE86 with a Twin Cam, a 80s 2800XX Supra, a few Kenmarys and Hakosukas, Cedric/Gloria 330 and 430 and a few Crowns. There may be others.

Has Fujimi ever made a car model with an engine? I love the quality of a Fujimi kit but really would like an engine for full detail.

Yes. They have some Skyline kits and Fairlady (Z) kits with engines. They are not real good kits though as the hoods are molded shut and there is no under hood detail other than the engine - not to mention some accuracy issues.

I have built the 500 and found it to be a very nice kit to build. The only thing that i changed were the wheels and tires as the ones supplied in the kit are to small. I ended up using an XS wheel set, they were a bit to big but still looked better. I also slightly lowered the suspension.

i found this pic that was taken at the Toledo NNL of it.

Some of the Fujimi Porsches have engines. I've got a '73 911 Carrera RS kit with a fairly decent engine and opening "hood" (trunk?) to show off the engine, it can also be left out and mounted on a stand. Kind of annoyingly they also have a detailed under hood (front) area but you have to cut the hood open if you want to show it off.

They did release at least two of the Datsun/Nissan engines in a parts pack, too. The engines were pretty much lifted straight from the car kits.
