jjsipes Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Has anybody purchased this kit and have pics of contents? Was wondering what the kit was like, curbside or full detailed?
blubaja Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 The body is decent for the plain version. The other body kitted ones aren't accurate. And the tires especially are for ###### in all the kits.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Good find, Harry, thanks for the link.
Darren B Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Has Fujimi ever made a car model with an engine? I love the quality of a Fujimi kit but really would like an engine for full detail.
Sport Suburban Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I don't know of many but they did offer an enthusiest series that was full detail. I have a few of the Lamborghini Countach kit's.
Junkman Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Apart from the Enthusiast Series, there have been a few where they threw resin engines in. IIRC an AE86 with a Twin Cam, a 80s 2800XX Supra, a few Kenmarys and Hakosukas, Cedric/Gloria 330 and 430 and a few Crowns. There may be others.

They have some Skyline kits and Fairlady (Z) kits with engines. They are not real good kits though as the hoods are molded shut and there is no under hood detail other than the engine - not to mention some accuracy issues.
Taxdude Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I have built the 500 and found it to be a very nice kit to build. The only thing that i changed were the wheels and tires as the ones supplied in the kit are to small. I ended up using an XS wheel set, they were a bit to big but still looked better. I also slightly lowered the suspension. i found this pic that was taken at the Toledo NNL of it. http://public.fotki.com/MIKEHENSLEY/2011-model-car-shows/2011-toledo-nnl/10-8-11-190.html Fred
Aaronw Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Some of the Fujimi Porsches have engines. I've got a '73 911 Carrera RS kit with a fairly decent engine and opening "hood" (trunk?) to show off the engine, it can also be left out and mounted on a stand. Kind of annoyingly they also have a detailed under hood (front) area but you have to cut the hood open if you want to show it off.
Chuck Most Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Yes. They have some Skyline kits and Fairlady (Z) kits with engines. They are not real good kits though as the hoods are molded shut and there is no under hood detail other than the engine - not to mention some accuracy issues. They did release at least two of the Datsun/Nissan engines in a parts pack, too. The engines were pretty much lifted straight from the car kits.
RickRollerLT1 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 From what I heard, watch for the fitment of the front bumper. That thing can be a nasty 'lil bugger to work with if proper fitment modifications weren't made .
