Luis_555 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Hey!! Here's my second finished model, a 64" Chevrolet Impala SS. The AMT kit was really simple, and it make things a lil bit more difficult for me, since a don't have so much experience yet. I'll add some details on the engine when I had time. 1:1 Reference My model
Sixties Sam Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Very nice model, Luis! It looks just like the 1:1 reference photo. Great paint and detailing work! Sam
charlie8575 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I think you did just fine with it, Luis. I like your dashboard detailing. I prefer the older kits; I find the lower parts-count a lot easier to deal with, and I enjoy the building a little more because you get a little more of a challenge with detail painting, which I think makes me a better modeler. Luis_555 Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 Sixties Sam - Thank you Sam!! charlie8575 - Thanks!! And I agree with you, the challenge in this kit was bigger than the Revell Chevy Nova, especially about minor details, because the kit doesn't come with anything, and I don't have experience to do decals, micro painting and labels by my self yet... but I love muscle cars, so I'm kinda obligated to know how to build AMT haha Bye!!
crazyjim Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 A 409 in a '64 Chevy is sure muscle. Nice build.
jjsipes Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 NIce looking 64. Paint looks great and it's NOT a low rider. I like it.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 That is one beautiful "blue" paint job. Excellent model. Congrats.
W-409 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Great job with it. I like the color, and stance. Wheels and tires look very good too. Maybe those window trims could be foiled, but otherwise really great job on this. 409 engine gives HUGE pluspoint!
