Dr. Cranky Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 That is some fantastic weathering and rusting, Mr. Most. You are taking no prisoners. Love it.
Chuck Most Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Interior is mostly dialed in on the abandoned Hornet droptop. I cut off the front of the dash and replicated the framework behind it. I also made up new side panels. And then I filled out the interior with some assorted debris, the kind of stuff you'd find in a junkard car with no seats. I've noticed such vehicles tend to become makeshift storage sheds of sorts under those kinds of circumstances.
Olskoolrodder Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 LOve the barn-find-look about it,nicely weathered/built
W-409 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 This has been on a hold for a while, but I'm back at it! Now this time it will get finished, I'll promise. I finished the interior, dashboard is painted body color and foiled and decaled. I found no problems with putting this interior together, and this interior is really easy to make look good. And started Polishing the body.... Top, trunk lid and part of the side is polished...Still long way to go...
W-409 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Thanx Doctor! My plan is to get this one finished next week, there's a Model Car Show on Saturday, so that's my plan. I finally got the body polished and it turned out very good. It looks better in person, though. Somehow didn't manage to take any better pictures, but I hope you get the idea. Next I have to remove some wax from it (White in the door lines, grooves etc.). Then it's time to start another "NightMare"- BMF!
Tom Kren Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 ok heres mine ya seen it already but forgot all about this post great kit bought another but the vert and had good plans for it heres the link to the pics seeing i cant post pics somehowhttp://images54.fotki.com/v461/photos/1/10655/19386/DSC00010-vi.jpghttp://images46.fotki.com/v1506/photos/1/10655/19386/DSC00011-vi.jpghttp://images46.fotki.com/v400/photos/1/10655/19386/DSC00012-vi.jpghttp://images46.fotki.com/v522/photos/1/10655/19386/DSC00020-vi.jpg
W-409 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Alright, I managed to get this one done for the Model Car Show. Here are the rest WIP Pictures. I Foiled the body, and I really have to say that it was huge job to do, and not very easy either. The End Result is not perfect, but Good Enough for me. Then I installed the rear windows. The windshield fitted nicely, but I had problems with the rear window. But finally I got it installed nicely, and the body looked like this. The body and chassis fitted really nicely together, and after some engine detailing and installing few chrome parts, it was almost done... Here is the End-Result in the Show. I will post pics to Under Glass, I'll add the link in here too. Now starting the Fabulous Hudson Hornet Stock Car!
Chuck Most Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Looking sweet, Niko! I just started on this one, a '53 Club Coupe on a stretched Corvette CR-5 chassis-
W-409 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Thanks Chuck! How many Hudsons you've already built? There are so many that I can't remember. I mean that it's really nice to see a lot of these nice Hudsons being built, especially with a talented builder like you. BTW: Just in case someone did not see the UnderGlass post already, here's the link on my Hudson: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70023
Chuck Most Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 How many Hudsons you've already built? Five, with four more on the bench including the one I just posted. Yeah, it's a disease, and I don't wanna be cured!
Chuck Most Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Figuring out the engine, and poked some holes in the hood for it to breathe.
Dominik Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Wow Chuck - these colors looking awesome! Cool Hornet. Like your abonded convertibe also. Perfect weathering!
Chuck Most Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Thanks- I'm pleased with how the abandoned convertible came out too. Most of the tedious (foil trim, decals) stuff is done on the yellow '53-
Chuck Most Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 After chopping 6" out of the windshield frame, I thought the body looked just a bit too thick. So... out came three scale inches from the body...
Chuck Most Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Think I can get it to sit just an eensy teensy bit lower...?
Dominik Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 crazy Chuck - how many Hornets do you have in your shelf?!? And...how many are ready built? Amazing...i think that actual Conv comes out reeeeeealy sharp. What means "eensy teensy"? uiuiui....so many questions...

Amazing...i think that actual Conv comes out reeeeeealy sharp. What means "eensy teensy"? uiuiui....so many questions... Six finished, one nearly finished, and six more in varios stages. And I've got about as many ideas for more. I think I really like these. "Eensy teensy" is just a cute way of saying "small".

Chuck Most Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Well, I have been accused of single-handedly buying enough of them to recoup Moebius' tooling and development expenses. Might be true.
