I have to try and wire this little thing
Dr. Cranky Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Walt, that's looking might good. Can't wait to see more.
walt francis Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 Hi Walt, Good to see you back at it :) Randy Well I had to tear the toyshop down for awhile when the kid came home from Alaska for a couple funerals, one was his grandfather and then we lost his uncle to cancer but now I have the shop back up and running again.
walt francis Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 I have the dash done along with getting the rear axle assembly in and the motor done and in and now to start on the frontend.
Dr. Cranky Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 You are doing justice to this sweet kit. Keep it going. It's coming together very well.
walt francis Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 I have been chipping away at this a little every day so she is coming along now, I had to strip all the bumper guards and reshot them in alclad and got the back half on with the decals..I'm pretty happy how the engine turned out and how this is just falling together real easy.
Dr. Cranky Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Turning quickly into a beautiful, cleanly built model. Another gem.
gasser59 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Sweet little round track racer Walt. Very clean and nice executed. Keep it going.
Sixties Sam Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Lookin' good! Great engine detail. I need to get that kit. Sam
Tom Setzer Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Your doing GREAT on this build of a Kurtis Midget with V8 Sixty! The Midget that wouldn't Die, it first ran before WWII,and was still winning races in the late Sixties. There were a very Large number of them, so there is several examples of Famous ones to model and even more that were ran by people that never became famous, making this kit great for modelers, because you have a lot of choices when it comes to what your build will look like. Now if all of them could looked as good as yours! CHEERS! Tom
walt francis Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 The next time you see it I should have it finished
Diesel Gypsy Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 When this kit came out I thought "Thats a cool little number, but I don't think I'll buy one". Now after seeing this & many other build-ups I've changed my mind. Yup, I'd really like to build this kit. Thanks for the inspiration Walt

Lanny Haas Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Its a neat little kit, and I mean little. some parts are a litle fiddly to get together, but the results are worth it, as shown by Walts fine example. now if you throw in a push truck from the day and a little mud from hot lapping,...the choices are endless..
walt francis Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 Lanny , I really like the foil at the bottom of the glass , I have been trying to figure out how to finish that off and that is a great Idea ...Super job !!!!!!!!
