If you are trying to remove dupicolor, soak it in 91% alcohol

Edit, I am still waiting on two more kits to show up, I bought a total of eight kits last week  , been saving my weekly allowance up for a few weeks, then went a little crazy on ebay :D , one of the kits I am waiting on is the 2005 GT

Thats what the money is for any ways, so I just just tell her that it keeps me sane  , the caddy kit I am going to try and make stock, now I need to figure what to do with the mini monster truck tires and wheels , I can not understand why people put these size tires on their cars.

Once again, my painting prowess (or lack thereof) has struck again. I wetsanded a flaw on the hood down and then repainted with one light coat which ran down to the edge of the hood and bubbled up while drying.

And now, the hood is in the purple pond taking a bath.

I was hoping to have completed this one by now for the next Classic Plastic Model Club meeting, but fatigue and the lack of time to work on this build is starting to frustrate me. At work, my boss is finally starting to get the idea that our current set-up and schedule is not working and change is in the wind. It had better land on earth sooner than later!

More to come...

Josh, have you tried Easy-Off oven cleaner (yellow can) to remove the paint? I can tell you now, even it had a hard time with Dupli-color, as the paint actually stained the plastic (but, I didn't use a primer either, so that might have something to do with it). It was the ONLY thing that did end up taking it off, though.

Mike, your paint ills and mine seem to ride in the same car! I too have problems with touching up small areas (and burning through clear into decals when polishing). Overall, once the hood paint finally co-operates, I think your GT500 will look good and be worth the time you have put into it.

I have just finished the gathering stage (well, still waiting on Casey to get back with me for some of his parts) of my 2010GT build, so I will be starting on it soon....maybe next week at the latest. I promise it will suck and NOT be worth looking at!

Bradley,as to your last sentance....YEAH RIGHT!!! It'll be killer! :D

Mike,I'm sorry to see that,my friend,I really am. I HATE when that happens. You'll get it though, your past builds proves you will, and that it'll be worth it. Glad to hear the schedule issues might soon get better, hopefully will give you more time for important things (including building,as well as family) :)

I've been piddling with the Bullitt a bit today, doing some of the trim (including the headlight recess area and glass),and assembling some interior bits. I'll try and have some mockups today or tomorrow, and finish her up soon :)

yea thats why I dont bother with sanding to remove paint.

The 06 gt kit came today, so I now have three more kits for this build, I wont be starting them for a little bit though, I have some other builds I want to finish first.

Got the bullit primered today. Im working on a 99 Cobra right now as well. Guys you got me back into the mustang fever lol. Ive been snake bit.

I have on the workbench 08 Bullit, three 99 Cobras(one has been on a long while because it is getting open doors), Jada Gt500 and Gt500KR and soon will be the older mustang for the other CBP.

Btw does anyone know what color the chassis for the 99's are?

Josh, I have 40 FOXes started, 2 Bullitts, 2 GT500s (07 variants), 3 '05-09 GTs, a Hertz and '10 GT500, and even a few SN95s going.........all along with 2 semis, a Honda CRX, 2 Porsche 930s, several Datsun Z cars, a Syclone, a 62 Buick, and a few other small projects.

I love the FOX, and even Mustang in general, so don't feel bad about being 'Snakebit'!

Chassis color for the 99 would be Gray primer with heavy body color overspray.

Stephen, I'll let you guys be the judge of the 2010GT when I get started on it!

Thank you, I thought it had body color on it. That's the way my 02 is.

Bradley,WOW you gots a full bench! :blink::mellow:

Jonathan,cool beans,can't wait to see em going (that '10 looks SA-WEET!) :D

I ran to Hobbytown today to snag some specific color paint, and they had 3 2010 Mustang GT ragtop snapper kits in (one in someone else's hand,so) I snagged (the other) 2,one for me,one for the boy's stocking. I'll get some pics up later, and see how much work it looks to be to kitbash this with the GT hardtop glue kit B)

I am looking forward to getting started on the 2010 , post some pics of the GT convertible , I am looking forward to see what it looks like, and please let us know if kit bashing will work.

I will. Right now I'm waiting on her to crash out (no need for her to know I blew and extra $32,LOL :rolleyes: ),now NORMALLY,I'm up till about 2-3am,but I'm pretty worn out today, might be morning on pics, but if I outlast her I'll post em up tonight B)

Stephen, good score on the 'verts. I will have to drop by my HobbyTown next time I am in the Columbus area. Looks like at least one 'vert and one 2010GT kit at least (maybe the GT500 instead!).

Oh, and that's why I say my build times are so long, I have so many going at once that it is impossible for me to make any real headway on any of them (considering half of the FOXes are conversions to other trim lines/models).

LOL,I hear ya,Bradley! Last couple years,I've been building less...involved...projects for just that reason (of course, after a house fire,I'm starting fresh,so....LMBO!).

I posted up pics of the boxes contents here.....

...if you want to check it out. Not the best pics, but as a survivor of the fire, the digicam has it's days. It'll be replaced tax time :)

Bradley- I've got the same 'problem', and now that I'm getting into more detail and better build quality (well, for me at least) it's starting to take a while!

That's why I think I'll kick this build off by throwing together the '10 GT convert. Not box stock, I do plan to change out the rolling stock and detail it a little, but it'll pretty much just be a 'bang it out and call it a day' kind of project. I might even leave it in the molded color- just sand off the mold lines and polish the plastic. :o Then I'll think about my glue '10 GT. Or the '08 Bullit, or one of the '07 Shelby GT500s I just KNOW I've got laying around here somewhere...
