mrmike Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Thanks guys! Yes Jonathan, the snap kit chassis has a lot of detail in it and it is quite a bit more challenging to detail paint. But, once it is carefully done, is looks quite good.

Olskoolrodder Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Hey guess what....I may not can seem to muster gumtion to work on my '08 Bullitt lately (got out of the mood,then into a traditional hotrod/kustom mood...),but it became obvious today my (9 year old*) son wants to get going on his '10 GT ragtop kit,so look for it soon. *He's only ever built one kit (and actually...I kinda did most of it) the Revell snapper '34 Ford (fenderless...I love that boy! ),and I'll be doing any spray or if there's any tedious detail painting,but he's gunna get his feet wet on it

Well I am sure you and your boy will have fun working on it, cant wait to see it. I am sure you will get the feeling again for the Bullitt

Just drill four new holes in the chassis and insert the brake discs, axles, and wheels and you're done. Wayne, I really like your GSP Mustang. Great job!

I do agree, it is so much easier to lower kits when they have metal axles , I think G posted that to get me to start on mine
Agent G Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Yes Jonathan I did. I used the wheels/tires/hubs from a diecast CVPI. It didn't take much to adapt them to the 'stang Mike I'm loving the coupe, that color is an eye catcher for sure. Yellow G
martinfan5 Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 (edited) Very good G, that is yellow, I have been thinking about the Mustang, and I figured it would have to be done as a AZ DPS unit, how many city departments would use a Mustang other then for a recruitment unit. AZ DPS has some F150's that are painted up really nicely in the theme of the state flag, I think they are aggressive driving unit's , I am not to sure, and the only time I see them is on the freeway, and I can not find any pics of it online. I was also thinking of doing like a black body , kind of like stealth markings, or can just go with the normal scheme, hmm? I am in luck, if I wanted to use the diecast wheels, I can buy just the wheels, which I might, as I think took the wheels out of the kit to use on another build. Edited April 11, 2012 by martinfan5

Illinois State Police used the last of the Camaros as stealth interceptors. Those mofos would flat out go. If I recall correctly they were all 9C1 package Camaros in a Champagne gold color. G

Agent G Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Jonathan when AzDPS and NvDPS team with ICE, they can go darn near anywhere they are needed. Truck interdiction was huge on the 95 and the 93 a few years ago. Now that the bridge is open, that route from Mexico will be heating up again. G

The Build It is time to lower the suspension on this Mustang Convertible. First step is to remove the brake rotor from the tree and score the flat inside portion. Using a chisel point hobby knife, I removed the section not needed. I then glue the brake rotor to the pin retainer on the wheel. The styrene pin that I install previously should be flush with the brake rotor. Next, I'll show you how to determine the ride height. McNally will return...

I was figuring Nick would have me helping him with his '10 ragtop by now,but he scored a Lambo. Diablo snapper kit the other day and we've been piddling on it,and then he wants to do that C5 Vette snapper kit next (both being a bit simpler than the Stang kit-but also with les detail)...eventually he'll want on it though,(if I hadn't said it before),as he scoreda set of SLIXX flame decals he's been wanting just for the Stang kit (he spent his own allowance moneys to buy em too,LOL!)

It is not 100% accurate, but it sure beats cutting and grinding the frame. The Story McNally arrives at Caitlyn's condo and is let in. He sees her holding the snub-nose .38 and asks her what is wrong and she tell him about the silver sedan that has been following her for the last several days and how uneasy it makes her feel. He asks her about the gun and she tells McNally about her firearms training and the license to carry a concealed weapon, even though she is still quite nervous and is constantly looking out the window for the silver sedan. McNally checks all the windows and doors in the condo and offers to spend the night watching out for her by sleeping on the couch. Caitlyn thanks him for offering to stay and says it won't be necessary as long as all the windows and doors are secure. Meanwhile, the silver sedan is parked down the street from the condo and is being watched by the driver. The Build As I was about to remove the front rotors from the parts tree, I realized that I didn't show the procedure for them. The front rotors are side specific and must be modified accordingly. Use the same process for the front rotors keeping in mind which one is for which side. On the left is the drivers side and on the right is the passenger side rotor. Modified. Attach them to the wheels the same as the rears. Next up...determining the ride height. McNally will return...
