Junkman Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I would give a kidney for those two cars from the Getaway. I think you can get both in curd soap. But the box art is just uberkewl.
GOTH KUSTOMS Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) They actually did make a kit of the 1961 Corvair rampside pick up, premiere did the kit, here is a link to one on Ebay for sale.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/150684256363 Edited November 3, 2011 by unforgiven
Ben Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 A number of fictitious model boxes _ including the Adam-12, Andy Griffith Show and Rockford Files ones _ were created a few years back by a gentleman by the name of Everett "The Box Man" Westfall, who has since passed away. The ones he did were actual boxes, not just computer-generated images. Yeah. that's the guy! Wow, what a bummer to hear he passed away!
disabled modeler Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Id like to see the getaway kits too.... cruel to tease us all like that but the boxes would even be cool to have. Can you say cool wall paper?
2000-cvpi Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I think you can get both in curd soap. But the box art is just uberkewl. What is "curd soap"? I am guessing resin. That 63 Galaxie made that movie so much more entertaining for me.
Chuck Most Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Microsoft Paint + boredom + wishful thinking =
Dr. Cranky Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Boy, I'd give an arm and a leg to have one of those in kit form, although I wouldn't mind a real one either! LOL!
Nitrozilla Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I know this is off topic, but my building style doesn't allow me to build anything "straight out of the box." So a friend challenged me to build a model out of the box:
57peppershaker Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Very talented stuff ! Has the 4 door 63 Galaxie ever been cast in resin ?
HotRodaSaurus Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) They actually did make a kit of the 1961 Corvair rampside pick up, premiere did the kit, here is a link to one on Ebay for sale.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/150684256363 Looks supriseingley accurate(well, almost) for a Premiere kit Edited November 4, 2011 by HotRodaSaurus
Tony T Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) That is sweeeet...I love the desk and the prices on top of the Testor's bottles! I think I still have some in the 35 cent range!! (Prices are always higher in Canada after all!) Add the Testor's tube glue, Cartoons mag and Hot Wheels with model cars and if you had music going you have my teen years...with the coffee, that's me now!! Love it, Jairus! Dr. Cranky Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Let's hope they are listening. They might be exhausted after all the changes to the Hornet.
philo426 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 i like the '73 Impala.Wouldn't be too hard to replicate using the MPC '73 Caprice!
Chuck Most Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Hey, Jairus- did Jeff Koch weep when he saw that Impala SS rendering? (That '70's Sketchpad is one of the few Hot Rod sketchpad articles I remember, and remember well.)
Maindrian Pace Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 A bit of a fantasy, but it would have been nice.
Atmobil Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I had a Comet wagon once but I think it was a 64 and it was in resin. Not sure who made it.
disabled modeler Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 A bit of a fantasy, but it would have been nice. Now that is COOL Mike....
The70judgeman Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Stumbled across this thread due to the recent posts. Anyway, here's one that I have.
Atmobil Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I got a bit inspired with this thread and made this. Not very good, I admit. I made it with MS paint and I'm not very good at the picture editing stuff.
ChrisBcritter Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) ^^^ Cool! Try "Rockwell" for a closer font match if you have it. Edited February 19, 2015 by ChrisBcritter
Tom Geiger Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) I got a bit inspired with this thread and made this. Not very good, I admit. I made it with MS paint and I'm not very good at the picture editing stuff. I'd buy a couple of these! This Mercedes represents most of the cars that US Army folks brought back to the USA in the 1960s. Any Army Post in the USA, there'd be a bunch of these, trophies from serving in Germany. My father was a US Army officer and we finally went to Germany in 1969, my dad with thoughts of Mercedes in his head. He said we'd bring one back to the states for sure. Then the US military had a "Buy American" campaign, and through a contractor brought a slew of new US cars to the Px stores in Europe. I knew people who bought new Ford LTDs, and my father bought into the hype and instead of getting his once in a lifetime Mercedes, shipped the '66 Valiant back to the US. Years later he admitted he should've bought the Mercedes! Edited February 19, 2015 by Tom Geiger
