It basically says:

detailed model, opening doors, accurate motor, opening bonnet with complete details (radiator) 2 Cartograf decal sheets, 1 for carbon, and 1 for livery.

Pat Redmond posted the review of the Simil R Focus kit.

Hi,

While I was going down the road of getting an older Fujumi Gt40 Mk1 kit with some addons from HRM for the engine, Studio 27 for a PE up detail kit and Rennisance for some deeper wheels (woulda made for sweeeeeet model), I came across a new manufacturer that I've never heard of before; Simil R.

Thye've a new Ford GT kit (2010 car);

Cost comaprison of my Fujimi version versus this one, makes this one about ~$25 dollars cheaper. Plus its a new kit so one would assume better fit and finish etc...

I can't tell whether or not you are asking a question. In any event, try checking around online for builds of their kits. I have seen some spectacular work on this Ford GT and on their Focus. They are, by all accounts, excellent kits; Beyond excellent, even, as they include lots of photoetch and great decals and more. I think most modelers with any experience with SimilR kits would recommend them unconditionally.

Oh sorry Chillyb1, I was meaning to ask if any one has had this particular kit.

Hey Pete J, it's plastic, here is Stradas descritpion of the kit;

"1/24 scale plastic kit.A hi-detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the 2010 Ford GT GT1 LM car. Molded in white plastic with clear parts and black rubber tires. Includes photo-etched metal parts, metal springs, and more. Detailed interior, engine, and suspension. Extensive decals by Cartograf. Instructions are in English and French."

Hmmm.... Interesting. I guess I just don't see the detail as it is being described. I know this is probably one of the few versions of the new Ford GT and there is a lot to be said for that. Looks like a lot of work to make an outstanding model, though it would probably build up to a good shelf model. Just not my cup of tea though.

Those are very nice kits. They are models of the newer version of the Ford GT and not the old 1960's version race car. The model is a Ford GT that was raced with limited success in 2010 I believe.

For starters, not a new kit, its has been out for I want to say about three years now, I dont remember the exact release date at this moment, second, the one I have, had a lot of fit issues, for starters, the doors where out of shape, and one of them I could never get back into shape, and I had to glue them shut , there was not other way. The front fenders are not long enough, so you are going to have a large gap, the center part of the front nose is not wide enough, the engine cover was also out of shape and did does not fit right. The mirrors, there is no way to attach them to the windows, the holes for the mirrors to attach to are too large.

This is a kit that takes a lot of work, and a decent amount of skills , sadly, I dont have the skills needed to pull it off on this one, there is a lot of potential with these kits, but the shorts comings get in the way of that.

I have two versions of this kit and while I've never done more than open the boxes they appear to be a handful. Two decal sheets [full CF] and PE set this kit apart. It may be intimidating for some but for a skilled builder i don't see a problem. If you've built a Fujimi Enthusiast kit or say a full detail Tamiya, this should be in your wheelhouse.

They are worth what I paid and eventually I'll get to them, God willing and the creek don't rise.

Actually I was comparing to the older Fujimi GT40 Mk1 kit in terms of cost and detail.

So you have this very same GT1 Matech and some pieces were that poorly shaped?

Couldn't you use some putty, a file, exacto etc and make things work?

Man, I made my old vdub run with sime duct tape and JB Weld.

I know of a builder that has had one in progress for a couple of years now. I won't divulge anymore information that the fact that it will be killer when completed.

Well, I ordered one via Strada. They were nice enough to tell me that some stuff was on back order but I'm in no hurry. I've other kits on the way and will have fun picking and choosing, mwahahahaaaaaa!
