Has anybody used them. I may have to get some parts re-plated and have never done anything like this before. How do they mount? How long does it usally take? Please shine some light on this for me.

I used them a few years ago before I got into Alclad. Use adhesive type silicone to mount them to some hanger wire. Leave enough wire on one end for them to make a hook. I don't know if they still do, but they used to have a 10$ minimum fee. They do great work though and are well worth it. B) Turnaround is usually a couple weeks and if you want they will mount the parts for you.

For an extra charge of course. If you haven't yet, check out their website. They also have discounted services auctions on Ebay.

Hey Everyone - I've used Chrome Tech USA for better then 15 years - Robert (Bob) takes the time to get the job done right and at a very fair price - I know that there are other products out there that may produce in simular results but nothing makes a model stand out with a good/great chrome bumper or a set of wheels - I would and will continue using Chrome Tech USA for all of my re-chrome or new chrome projects - Joe

Here's my Chrometech USA story......I was building my Paddy Wagon and as some of you may know, everything that's plated in that kit is gold plated. Well, the plating was horrible as only one side seemed to get plated and the other side of the tree ended up just receiving the overspray of the plating process. This wasn't going to work for me so I called Bob and he advised me to go ahead and send in what I had and he would try to match the color of gold plating I had. What he sent me back was awesome!! The plating turned out amazing and no one would ever know I had a problem to begin with. After that, I will always use Chrometech for my plating needs.

I also have used Chrome Tech in the past and always was more than satisfied with the quality and service. For the latter, I'm old-fashioned enough to realize that outstanding quality cannot be achieved within a couple of days.

I haven't tried Alclad yet, so I have no comparison. It also seems to require sophisticated airbrush work to turn out it's best, an art I have never mastered.

All things considered, I'm still inclined to prefer the services of Chrome Tech. Why change a working system?
