scalenut Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 my weathering washes came in the mail today , I'm ready to play with them
Chuck Most Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 But, I need to come up with something for my next sketchpad.... sounds fun, right? DO IT.
tjones87 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I am in...This will be my first build of this type. Already got the donor kit and gathering up parts for the build...
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Remember, we all have to start at the same time. You can gather kits and parts, that's okay.
outlaw035 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 im in...can anyone answer austin ques on 1/24th scale weapons???
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Neal, I think Miniatures of Maryland carry some weapons. But the fun is also in kit-bashing and scratch-building stuff . . .
Jantrix Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 LOL! Virgil your cpap mask doesn't count as steampunk!
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Ha! Ha! Ha! It's a converted nocturnal oxygenator, Rob! That's my story and I am sticking to it!
Agent G Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 www.policecarmodels.com has some weapons in the appropriate scale as well. G
Agent G Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 You are quite welcome Doctor! The accessories section on that site has all sorts of good sh, er, uh, things in it. G
B-dub Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 so doc.. can we at least tape up paper on our models and try to get a feel of what we want? as long as we are not actually building anything? I dunno what I'm doing.. never have scratch built anything so I want to get an idea of what i want as far as armor
Dr. Cranky Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Sure, Bobby, you can even start scouting for parts and kits, etc . . . but the idea is for everyone to begin at the same time. Besides, what's the hurry, everyone is going to have 11 months to work on a model. LOL!
Aaronw Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Well these are always fun to watch even if I never seem to get around to actually building something. Umm can a post apocalyptic build be shiney? Sure Mad Max had lots of shiny cars, and then in The Road Warrior they ran out of wax, and by Thunderdome they ran out of gas.
wgflatliner Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 i'd be in if i didn't have 5 other WIP's to finish. one is almost done though, but either way i don't think i'll get the others done in time to start this CBP in january. sorry doc!
Dr. Cranky Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Mark, there's going to be plenty of time, or to paraphrase T. S. Eliot's poem: Time for you and time for me, And time yet for a hundred indecisions, And for a hundred visions and revisions, Before the taking of a toast and tea.
wgflatliner Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 if i don't have to START in January then count me in. i'll make sure to have it finished by the deadline. now i have to find a subject. hmm.
Ron L Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I've been waiting for a build off like this for ages. This is what I got hung up on a while back but I'll build something new.
moparmagiclives Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Sure, Bobby, you can even start scouting for parts and kits, etc . . . but the idea is for everyone to begin at the same time. Besides, what's the hurry, everyone is going to have 11 months to work on a model. LOL! So, lets say the world DOSENT come to a sudden halt next Dec.... can I have an extension ????
outlaw035 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 wow had no idea how hard its been trying to find the perfect kit or glue bomb for this challenge...so far no luck....did find a glue bomb on ebay but bid went over $25...thats where i dropped out...the hunt continues....
Dr. Cranky Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 Neal, you shoudn't have any trouble. When I do these kinds of builds, I just reach into the spares parts and bodies and start grabbing. How do you think I ended up hiring EYEGORE to come work in the Lab-RAT-ory. I hid a scrapple sandwich in the spares body bin and he fetches some cool stuff, and leaves no teeth marks.
B-dub Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 I have a decent idea what I'll be using I've decided it has to be 4x4.. and decent on gas (actually building what I want as a 1:1) so cranky what kind of appoc is this going to be? nuclear fallout where it's humans vs mutants and rebels oooor a goood ole ZAMBIE TAKEOVER!
