Mr. Moparman Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I was wondering where i could get a set of the mag wheels that were recallled by Mopar in '69.
Casey Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 The Kelsey-Hayes "recall" wheels were available in the AMT '69 Barracuda kit, but I've seen someone casting them in resin.

Mr. Moparman Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 Kris's stuff is great! I'll get a set from him.
Rob Hall Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Scale Equipment Ltd also has them in resin, chromed.
SuperStockAndy Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Someone care to explain these "Recall" Mags? Is Recall the name of the wheel, or were they recalled?
Mr. Moparman Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 Someone care to explain these "Recall" Mags? Is Recall the name of the wheel, or were they recalled? Andy, they were made by an aftermarket company called Kelsey Hays. Mopar used them for a few months on cars but recalled ALL cars that left the factory with them for reasons unknown, here is a Daytona wearing a set.
440 Dakota Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I remember reading it was because they cracked around the lug seats and wouldn't stay tight which would happen after a couple hundred miles
jeffb Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 some of those wheels cracked around the lug nuts..got a bud who has a set on his 69 daytona, not the one pictured above tho...
Maindrian Pace Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Apparently they didn't all crack, I know a guy who has them on a '69 Charger 500, and he's been running them for ay least ten years that I know of with no issues. It's too bad that they had problems, because they really changed the character of the cars and were a nice looking wheel. -MJS
