jjsipes Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I have been trying to work on this Hornet ever since it came out. I started with Tamiya Park Green on the body and Tamiya Racing Green on the Roof. Had a pretty good shine on it so I bare-metaled the trim. That took about 2 days to do off and on. This car has a lot of trim on it. I have yet to polish the body any and it has no clear on it. I think it looks good. Then for the interior I started with Testors Light Earth spray for the darker color and Testors Fabric Tan for the lighter color. Once again I wasn't sure aboutthe colors but I think it looks good. Got the chassis pan spray with Dupli-Color Semi Flat black and the frame sprayed with Testors Black Lacquer that has a semi-gloss shine to it. Has great contrast. Hope to have more completed soon. Just after I sprayed and untaped. Body has Bare-metal applied. Just after I untaped interior.
Haubenschild Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 That is looking FRIGGIN AMAZING! , the paint is beautiful and that chrome! , that looks so awesome

rmvw guy Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Nice work so far. Your color choices look amazing to me. I want to start one of these so bad, can't wait to see the rest of yours, please keep it going and post more pictures! Good job on the b.m.f. wish I could do that as well.
Jon Cole Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Great start! Great color choices! And a thumbs up on following the correct line on foiling the side trim. I have seen pics of the foil trimmed on the bodyside style line, and not on the top edge of the side spear, as it should be. Looking forward to seeing this one complete!
Mr. Moparman Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 This is going to be a nice Hudson! Keep it up!!!
DumpyDan Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Love the color choice, foil looks good, bet it was a pain in the neck...........a real pain in the neck. LOOKS GREAT!
jjsipes Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I will work on this as time and my 1 year daughter allows. I am looking forward to completing this build. It is such a wonderful kit and I can't wait to see other offerings from Moebius.
imatt88 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 WOW, that paint job is amazing! Straight out of the can with no polishing?? All I can say is....wow
Darren B Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Outstanding work can not wait to see the finished car.
jjsipes Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 Got a few minutes this past weekend to work on my Hudson a little. Got some work completed on my interior and chassis.
jjsipes Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 Got some more accomplished on my Hornet this past week. Got engine just about finished. Had to do a mock you to what it will like, now all I want to do is complete it.
MikeMc Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) Jason the Build is fantastic.....The blurry photos do it a disservice.....try backing up a bit, or if hand held...get a small tripod....This one shows you're too close....I love the two interior colors! John Teresi Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Jason......your doing an AWESOME job........colors are great!!!!!
charlie8575 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Those shades of brown in the interior look about right for the Hornets I've seen over the years. Duly noted. Excellent build on this. Charlie Larkin
jjsipes Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 Thank you guys for the kind words. Want to try and finish up this weekend and I will snag my wife's camera and snap some pics of it and maybe they will turn out better than the ones with my phone.
Ragnar Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Great colour combo, and great looking foil work. I will be a very nice looking Hudson!
Bernard Kron Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Beautiful quality execution that takes advantage of these incredible kits from the small producers (I'm reminded of the Galaxie Limited '48 Chevies) which respond so well to this approach to modeling.
jjsipes Posted April 25, 2016 Author Posted April 25, 2016 Man, here's another old wip that I just finished this weekend. Need to do a final clean-up and will take pics to share.
