Well here is my progress. I notched out the tank track assembly to accept the ford frame. I am going to cut the top of the sleeper off ( I just have not gotten that far ) for the turret mount. I just put the turret there to show a direction I am taking.

I also plan on building a lot of other things to it. let me know what you think.

Hmm, I have about that much left of my Aeromax after I built this so i'll be following.

I hope it's okay, and not too late to post in here. Sorry about the lack of progress pics, but I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. This is the first kit bash, and weathering I have ever done to a model. But thanks to the Doc's videos on salt-weathering, oil washes, and scratch building, I think it came out okay. I started with the AMT '67 Impala street machine kit and combined it with the wheels and tires from Revell's Interstate Batteries Funny Car snap-kit. I scratch built the flamethower, and flamethrower tanks from some of the kit parts and some parts box goodies.

I call this one "Backdraft".

Thank you Doc for all your videos and tips, they really helped out!

That's the most beautiful tank-rig-thing ever haha

I think you should move the tank treads forward more, right now they're hanging back too far making the model look kinda lanky.

Update on the 1941 Ford Water Truck

We've got a defense deck above the water tank with two auto targetting guns. Hoses for water retrieval, full onboard treatment so the water that comes out at the back is clean, Seats for those working the truck and so that there is place for sentries. It's an open vehicle, so the idea is the protection comes from personal armour and hand held weapons and the auto target guns. Still need to add the steering wheel, exhaust for the engine and maybe a bit more "gizmology" than I already have. Enjoy the eye candy! :)

Interesting idea with the braided cord. What i would do is to soak it in a mixture of white glue and water, about 70% glue. Then while it is still wet add it to the model as you want. This is for a couple of reasons.

1. The cord will settle as though it had a great deal of weight, as a rope would.

2. It should cause it to look less fuzzy.

Then I would get your weathering stuff out and make it look weather beaten.

It's some old shoelaces...great idea with the glue/water mix. Was trying to consider what kind of fixative to use. This will be perfect. I had intended to weather it some, but hadn't got there yet, since the "hoses" we're not yet fixed. Thanks, Rob!

Thanks, Derick!

That's a cool Machine Derick... Looks way better with the duel front wheels... they match the beefieness of the tracks...

Awesome Job... Lookin' Good!

I guess I'm officially calling this Destroyer II. I've got the dash and rear console already done, as well as the body painted, and the wheels.

Placing the exhaust here, I don't like the pipes sticking out of the hood.
