NuclearWeapon Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 (edited) Some progress on my project also... Revell Salzgitter AMG Mercedes C-Klasse MTD 2009 + Tamiya M41 Walker Bulldog = ?????? Waiting your comments... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=5446 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=5445 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=5441 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=5443 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=5442 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=5441 Edited February 19, 2013 by NuclearWeapon
wrecker388 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Well here is my progress. I notched out the tank track assembly to accept the ford frame. I am going to cut the top of the sleeper off ( I just have not gotten that far ) for the turret mount. I just put the turret there to show a direction I am taking. I also plan on building a lot of other things to it. let me know what you think. Hmm, I have about that much left of my Aeromax after I built this so i'll be following.
Sixgunner68 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I hope it's okay, and not too late to post in here. Sorry about the lack of progress pics, but I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. This is the first kit bash, and weathering I have ever done to a model. But thanks to the Doc's videos on salt-weathering, oil washes, and scratch building, I think it came out okay. I started with the AMT '67 Impala street machine kit and combined it with the wheels and tires from Revell's Interstate Batteries Funny Car snap-kit. I scratch built the flamethower, and flamethrower tanks from some of the kit parts and some parts box goodies. I call this one "Backdraft". Thank you Doc for all your videos and tips, they really helped out!
Sixgunner68 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Very nice.. I like it lots Everett. Thanks, Derick! Looking forward to seeing more of your build!
Dr. Cranky Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 The amazing wild eye candy continues. Love these WIPS. Keep going, chaps. Don't let the Zombies win!
Henchmen4Hire Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 That's the most beautiful tank-rig-thing ever haha I think you should move the tank treads forward more, right now they're hanging back too far making the model look kinda lanky.
Dr. Cranky Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 Looking good. I love these kinds of road monsters. KUTGW.
Tony T Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Update on the 1941 Ford Water Truck We've got a defense deck above the water tank with two auto targetting guns. Hoses for water retrieval, full onboard treatment so the water that comes out at the back is clean, Seats for those working the truck and so that there is place for sentries. It's an open vehicle, so the idea is the protection comes from personal armour and hand held weapons and the auto target guns. Still need to add the steering wheel, exhaust for the engine and maybe a bit more "gizmology" than I already have. Enjoy the eye candy!
Jantrix Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Interesting idea with the braided cord. What i would do is to soak it in a mixture of white glue and water, about 70% glue. Then while it is still wet add it to the model as you want. This is for a couple of reasons. 1. The cord will settle as though it had a great deal of weight, as a rope would. 2. It should cause it to look less fuzzy. Then I would get your weathering stuff out and make it look weather beaten.
Tony T Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 (edited) It's some old shoelaces...great idea with the glue/water mix. Was trying to consider what kind of fixative to use. This will be perfect. I had intended to weather it some, but hadn't got there yet, since the "hoses" we're not yet fixed. Thanks, Rob! Thanks, Derick! Edited March 4, 2013 by Tony T
Tony-442 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 That's a cool Machine Derick... Looks way better with the duel front wheels... they match the beefieness of the tracks... Awesome Job... Lookin' Good!
Tony T Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) Nemo is done and Under Glass here. I like how it turned out in the end. Pretty close to what I imagined. Nemo and Galaxium together. Edited March 11, 2013 by Tony T
Sixgunner68 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Is there going to be a 2013 ? I wondered that myself. Got a couple of ideas kicking around in my head!
Zarana-X Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 We're well into 2013, is this ongoing, or are we gonna start a new one? I've got some pics to take, anyway.
English Jules Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 can i join in? had the idea of a zombie theme for a good while. i wanted to do a US school bus, but could only find a japenese one, but ran out of cash anyway lol. Got a modern German army truck, which i would never build as its not my thing but would be great done up
Jantrix Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Why not just keep this as an ongoing interest. People are still working so may as well nix the end date.
Zarana-X Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Since this shows no sign of stopping, I guess I will post my "new" Mad Police Destroyer here. I'll get some progress pics up soon, but here is my review, and you can see what I started with: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69398&hl=%2Bmad+%2Bpolice
Zarana-X Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I guess I'm officially calling this Destroyer II. I've got the dash and rear console already done, as well as the body painted, and the wheels. Placing the exhaust here, I don't like the pipes sticking out of the hood.
Zarana-X Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I thought this may relatively interesting to some of us here.http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1511217572/undying-post-apocalyptic-zombies-film
