James2 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Hey truck fans. I have been wanting to build a mild custom big rig for some time. Nothing overly detailed but a nice looker, ya know. I have not built a large car since I was child, and the cost of a proper kit has always seemed to prevent me from building one. Here are my favorites, not in any order: Chevy Bison Autocar a64b Pete 359 Snapkit Pete California Hauler KW 925 Not sure about quality of these kits, I would hate to spend good $$$ on a clunker. Been looking on Feebay, and will be checking swap meets, any advise? Thanks, J2
jekylljr Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 my advice would be to go out n get a snap pete or kenworth w900 u can do many mods with those snap kits and they are cheap,...u can stretch the frame drop the visors full fenders, add straight pipes , modify the front fenders, custom paint etc ect the list goes on ps those snap kits come with a pretty detailed cat 3406b block engine good luck n enjoy !!!!! ----farway model truck fleet
Missing in Action Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Use AMT 10.00x20'S, They are a good common kit tire. I use them on the Snap-tites I have...Dave is right...The snap-tite kit tires are terrible!!!

Aaronw Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 i was going to recommend the Revell snap kits, but the tire issues to me kill those kits. Yeah, but they are so cheap you can afford some aftermarket wheels and still not have spent a ton of money.
James2 Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 Thank you kindly. I will do some looking now. I wondered about the snapkits.
BigBad Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Yeah, but they are so cheap you can afford some aftermarket wheels and still not have spent a ton of money. It's a good excuse to get some! Some of them are so-so, but most are a lot better than the kit issues. And besides, you get the styles you want. KFS has many models, have a look at those at http://kitformservices.com/.
