MoparWoman Jamie Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 What's the correct shade of orange? There is really none, the show cars was all shades. Even at times they just mix what ever oranges they hand on hand together to get enough to paint a car or afew cars when they had to. EV2 is the most "used" color though.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I used compition orange on my GL's I use "real orange" as it's close to the color they used on the show.
martinfan5 Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) I use "real orange" as it's close to the color they used on the show. I just grabbed the first orange I saw, and thats what it happened to be  To OP there really is no right or wrong way to build a GL kit, becuase during the life of the show, the GL's were all different , as long as you get the interior a tan-ish color, the wheels , push bar, and the paint close to an orange color, it will be a correct GL build Edited January 16, 2012 by martinfan5
57peppershaker Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I think Tye's original question has got a bit lost in all this. Was the roof line restored in the latest issue General Lee ? If so, it will build an 'ok' General but as everybodys said, if you want a better GL, get a Revell kit ect. Whatever kit you get Tye, keep us posted on it.
Mr. Moparman Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Since Danno was busy earlier in the topic, OMGNAGLT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Greg Myers Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 When I go to car shows or cruz nights people often ask me how I got to this point. I usually answer: " The hardest part was getting the flag off the top." The looks I get are priceless.

Junkman Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Serious question: Don't you have to sand off the vinyl texture of the Revell Charger?
MoparWoman Jamie Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Serious question: Don't you have to sand off the vinyl texture of the Revell Charger? Yes
Agent G Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 So the consensus is that Revell has the most accurate kit of a 68/69 Charger? Greg I love that car. G

Scale-Master Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Is it just me that finds the irony of the acronym DOH is the same thing doltish Homer Simpson says when he screws up?

Agent G Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Danno, if you persist I just might have to build a General Lee.................................... G
Chuck Most Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Is it just me that finds the irony of the acronym DOH is the same thing doltish Homer Simpson says when he screws up? All it needs is an apostrophe between the D and O. Danno? What's your favorite car of all time? I think I'm gonna build a General Lee version of whatever it is.
Scale-Master Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 All it needs is an apostrophe between the D and O. Like Dukes 'O Hazard?
sjordan2 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 How about a Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, General Lee style? Except you're SOL if you weld the doors shut.
Chuck Most Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Like Dukes 'O Hazard? I like it. Has a very Olde English feel to it.
Scale-Master Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 How about a Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, General Lee style? Except you're SOL if you weld the doors shut. Why not climb through the windows? And it would appropriate with buzzard bars on the windshield...
