Dyno Davo Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Built this for a local show, Theme was to get her as low as you can go, sheet of paper just slipped under mine and I didn't even place!!!!!! Cheers Dave
Dr. Cranky Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 What a beauty! LONG LIVE RUST! I love it. Great job, and I love the little details like the writing on the bed boards. The plate covered floors, etc . . . lots of eye candy. Thank you.
JB_Hobbies Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I dig the "artistic" pics! Great build! JB
KingThorvar Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 There must have been some tough competition if you didn't place with this piece. I really like it. Great work.
Raul_Perez Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 You just gotta love a car where the engine is taller than the body!! The wood work looks great, too!!
BOSWELL891 Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 If i was judging you would have been first place, very nice work
VW Dave Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Love it! How'd you do the license plate-covered floor?
mrm Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 If i was judging you would have been first place, very nice work I absolutely love the model. It is greatly done and full of character, but a comment like this without the other competitors shown is just ignorant.
LAone Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 man, thats just bad to the rusty bone! i dig it bro. now that is super low if they used paper to check ride height.
krazyglu Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Easy there feller, lets not go calling anyone out there..... I think that might be the coolest theme ever for a show, well in my eyes anyway I am not a huge fan of the barrel on the front, I just seems a little to big. Everything else about this thing is just awesome man, I love the license plate floor and the engine detail is outstanding. Great looking model, thanks for sharing this one.
Johnny K Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Fantastic job. I'd sure like to see photos of the other entries.
Sixties Sam Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Very cool! I like the floor and the wooden spars on the top. Sam
vaughn Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Wow....I like it a bunch !!!!!! Photos and all.
Dyno Davo Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 Love it! How'd you do the license plate-covered floor? Thanks guys, glad it hit the spot. The license plate floor was done by custom making a decal, I used scans of old plates and combined them onto one sheet and applied that to the floor panel.
TheCat Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 AWESOME build!! Love all the weathering you've done.
Ben Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Next time, just make a diorama of a street and set the air cleaners in a row right in the middle of the street. When they ask, tell them " it's so low, it's sub level! LOW ENOUGH FOR YA!" LOL Pretty sweet build!
outlaw035 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 dave that is one "KQQL" rat...luv everything about it except the barrel..but i get it...
Dyno Davo Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 dave that is one "KQQL" rat...luv everything about it except the barrel..but i get it... Yeah, fair call, it was a last minute decision to flip the moon tank to a whisky barrel. I kinda looks a bit too big. Cheers again for comments guys.
CaptainAhab Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Great job man! I think the barrel is sweet, just dont rear end anyone or that sweet shine will be all over the pavement! I especially like the exposed welds from the chop. Neat idea
