Dyno Davo Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Was planning on building the 1:1 of this but health issues put an end to that idea, so the model bench gave me artistic release for a fraction of the time and price. Cheers, Dave
disabled modeler Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Nice....I like it! I have a early 70s Ford crew cab project to do once i find some needed parts for it. Pretty cool truck!
Beavis Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 sorry to hear about your health problems. you did a fantastic job on this one though!
krazyglu Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Yeah it is pretty much decided anything you build Dave, I like I really like the stance, interior and engine bay on this one. Keep sharing your work with us.
Darbo Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Awesome build Dave, So what kit is that one mate?
Kauai420air Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Great job slammed to the ground and right hand drive sweet job. ALOHA
hotrod59f100 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Wow I would love to have one of those kits . Ive never seen one lowered ,it looks sweet. How hard was it to convert the steering ?
W-409 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Register plate says it all... Very nice build, just low enough and those wheels and tires are perfect choice. Black car with red steelies fit just perfectly together. Nice engine detailing too, thanks for sharing.
1zebra3 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Nice ford pu Dave. Was planning on restoring my 1/1 "79" but had to sell it just a couple months ago cause of health issues also. Built a model of it back in mid 80s but it got messed up when I moved so it needs a bit of restoring.
Dyno Davo Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 Excellent! What kit is that? I need one BAD!!! Awesome build Dave, So what kit is that one mate? Thanks again guys for the encouraging words. This was converted from the AMT Star Truck kit, I flipped the steering box over and made a new mount on the chassis for it and a new drop arm. The dash in these is close to the Aussie version so I shaved off all the detail and made a new decal with the right hand dash details to match our version. The motor has also been downsized slightly to look more like a 351ci Cleveland which is what ours are powered by.
Jimk Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Thanks David! I'll be on the lookout for this kit!
Dominik Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Thats defenly a cool looking Pickup. I like it and the work you have done with the righthanded steeringwheel, dash, and so on, is really awesome! Since a cople of weeks i bought the same built kit for a restauration. Yours is a eycatcher! I will build mine a original Star Truck - hope so.
