Dyno Davo Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Built this one from the horrid brown molded kit. Again lots of scratch with home made decals and funky candy paint.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 What a beauty of a model! Congratulations!
Pro Tech Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Hi Dave, always loved this build. The paint is just beautiful. Nice work! Charlie Pro Tech
eviltwincustoms Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Wow Dave that Paint Job is a Million Bucks! Outstanding execution on that, and looks like it would be period correct during that era as well.
Dyno Davo Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Thanks guys, appreciate the kind words
skymnky721 Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Wow,,,love it. Where did you get the decals?
Dyno Davo Posted January 23, 2012 Author Posted January 23, 2012 Wow,,,love it. Where did you get the decals? Hi Scott, the main decals are all hand made. I laid the outline decals over hand burnished gold foil and then carefully cut them out and applied them to the body like applying chrome foil.

Wow,,do you have any posts where you show how you do that? or maybe somewhere here to learn that skill? Id like to check it out.
JMD904 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 One wicked paint job man! It could pass for a custom/street race/gasser!
Terry Sumner Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Wow...this build is pretty fantastic. The paint work is super and those decals are outta this world. But as many builders do, they call the car a gasser when it's missing something a true gasser has to have to run in the gas classes...a radiator. However, you've called it a gasser but don't have any gas class markings on it so it can easily just be a "gasser inspired" car!
FASTBACK340 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 WAAAAAY COOOOOL! Nice build! As evil handling as they are, ya gotta love a straight-axle car. Nothing else says bad-ass....
