Nick Winter Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 Last few Looks good with my other more recent stuff. Busted on her maden voyage Sorry for the picture overload. Nick
Haubenschild Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Great work Nick! , I like the last shot , is that supposed to be a pull over / chase scene?
Nick Winter Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 Thanks Liam, nope just getting a Speeding Ticket, as per usual, Nick
mannyclub Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Turned out awesome Nick. Cool doing the older build next to it side by side. last pic is cool, the 57 is sweet too! Manny
Dominik Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 What a different Nick! Yes, your Impala turned out great! I like the Stickers on the bumper and a nice detail are the quarterwindows. Cool idea that i will pick up for a coming built for myself. If you allowing this Two little things for your next build - as a small reminder: on the water hose from the radiator is a molded line. I'm sanding them away, if they are so present in the enginebay. Give more realistic. the front angle shows some black paint from the enginebay. I paint my bays not including the vertical edge. Perhaps you can remove the black paint from your fenders?
Nick Winter Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 Thank you guys, Dominik, to be honest, I forgot to paint the Rad hose until I noticed it in the box this morning while assembling the car, otherwise I would have removed the mold line, I also didn't notice the bit of black on the fender and should be able to polish that off. I appreciate you pointing that out to me and feel free to copy my idea, they say that's the best form of flattery. Nick
jaymcminn Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 This has a great early-60's vibe to it. Great work on that interior!
Nick Winter Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 Thanks Jeff and Jason. Jason, I was trying for a early 60's feel, '64 to be exact. Nick
W-409 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Turned out awesome! When you posted the WIP thread in "On the workbench", I was looking that your Impala, which was built in 2004 looks very cool. The style and stance etc. are just perfect. And this new version, is as cool as the Old one, but building skills are better, so the finishing is truly amazing also. Both are great builds, thanks for sharing.
Nick Winter Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 Thank you Mark and Niko, thinking maybe a few years down the road I'll do another more like the original. Nick
my66s55 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Nick, in all honest, I watched what you went through on this board in your development stage and in all sincerity, as an individual that was 19 years old and who grew up in and was living in the Detroit area in 1964, you hit this one perfectly. What a beautiful build. Congrats.
oldscool Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Thanks Jeff and Jason. Jason, I was trying for a early 60's feel, '64 to be exact. Nick That looks great Nick! Some baby moons would fit right in with the early 60s vibe. Love the seats. gus
Nick Winter Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 Thank you Doug, means a lot to hear I got it right, My dad was a pretty big help to me on this build, I asked him quite a few questions about what he could remember from his teens and thank you for the Compliment, I hope my next is even better. Thank you Gerald and Curt also. Nick
oldscool Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Forget the baby moons, no hubcaps was cool. Ugh...spyders maybe? gus
59 Impala Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 (edited) What a great job you did on this build Nick. I like the colors you chose for this one. You have come a long way from the first one you did. I'm 64 (almost 65) and I'm still learning stuff here and on other forums. I'm glad that you're staying with the models and getting better all the time. Great job my friend. Dan Edited January 23, 2012 by 59 Impala
