A rotary engine wouldn't fit/wasn't designed for a FWD car. The FE3 is pretty much the best bang for your buck for engine swaps into an early MX-6.

they do work in fwd application, plenty in nz

Andy: You're right! They are cool.

. Sonny's race engines makes a 1,005 cubic inch engine, It was featured in Hot Rod Magazine a while back and they showed that the cylinders are so big that a cantaloupe fits inside them.

Thanks, I guess that 1005 Cid. engine is big enough too. And needs to say, that those cylinders are Huge, if cantaloupe fits inside!

what is that top engine? Obviously japanese wanna say Toyota? Or possibly a Mitsubishi 4G63 loves those lil beasts!

Looks like a Pontiac 4 cyl. Possibly from a Grand Am?

But what one of those is your favorite ?? :)

Umm, I only saw one, the huge V24 Detroit. Were there others?

I chose the following , based upon :

A.) Visual Appeal

B.) Performance

C.) Seldom Seen ( excepting the 340 )

In no particular order-of-favour :

1.) GMC 702 C.I.D. "Twin-Six"

2.) GMC 351 "Big Block" V6

3.) Buick Nailhead

4.) MoPar 340 ( I chose the 1972-1973 version strictly for its visual appeal of the orange air cleaner / blue engine )

5.) Experimental Oldsmobile 455 C.I.D. Hemi

** I Don't Know WTH Happened to the image of the GMC V6 in My Above Post ?? **

Couple more :

1.) Detroit 12V-71 with twin 6V-71 Huffers (inside a 'Rod)

2.) Pontiac 250 C.I.D. OHC Sprint Six

As a side note ; it's too bad that American car manufactuers didn't allot more funding for the development of their six cylinder engines . Imagine an OHC Slant Six ; wider application of the Pontiac 230/250 OHC ; a Diesel Slant Six ; and many more .

Engines which could've saved the manufactures and the consumers A LOT of grief starting on 21.OCT.1973

6rotor.jpg

this will sound insane when it's up and running

This engine has just been started for the first time and is the worlds first running 6 rotor engine, built in New Zealand, will be in an RX4 drag car, should sound like a monster once it's run in and tuned.

Does anyone like Ford engines ? Here's a couple of 427 Cobra motors . A 700 H.P. all aluminum engine and a 650 H.P. with Inglese induction .

King of the Hemis!!! Ray Barton style. He redesigned the valve train geometry, and they redline close to 10 grand, and are waaaaay more reliable than the stock design.
