crazyjim Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I called it that because it's shot with HOK Meteor Maroon. Bucket seats are my castings from the 1969 Charger. Engine wired & plumbed with trans & oil dipsticks and a Fatkidd type distributor that's wired in the proper firing order. Tunneled headlights. My castings of 1959 Cadillac taillights in frenched surrounds and I added a scoop on the roof.
CaptainAhab Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 nice! paint looks great. The scoop on the back is a neat idea
crazyjim Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks Joe. Had to do something a little different.
Joker Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Canadian paint..Eh ! sorry couldn't resist. Love the bubble skirts
Dr. Cranky Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Nice, Jim. Love the model and the photo op backdrop.
Chuck Most Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Normally not fond of Maroon, but man, does it look sweet on your Merc.
Dirty Gringo Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 That interior is very nice as well as the rest of the build thanks for sharing

crazyjim Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Thank you guys for the kind comments.
TheCat Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Jim - That's a great looking Merc. Love the color and especially the Engine detail you've done. Great Job on this one!! LOVE IT!!
VW Dave Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Canadian paint..Eh ! It took aboot 30% more of it than an American paint would have, once he figured out the exchange rate. Seriously, Jim.........I love it! The interior really pops color-wise, and I had no clue those were Charger seats until reading your caption. Your underhood detail is top notch as well, but do you have a clearer picture of that?
crazyjim Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks Dave. I don't know what I'm doing wrong with pics. I use the closeup setting on the camera that's on a small tripod. They always seem to come out blurry. I'm not sure what to do. It's not Canadian paint - HOK. It dawned on me that there was/is a Mercury Meteor for Canada, but this is strictkly the paint color.
MrObsessive Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Excellent Job Jim! I LOVE that interior and engine detail!
VW Dave Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks Dave. I don't know what I'm doing wrong with pics. I use the closeup setting on the camera that's on a small tripod. They always seem to come out blurry. I'm not sure what to do. You might need to back your camera away from the subject and use the zoom to get the closer view you need while set on macro; I don't remember who taught me that, but it worked great for my photos
crazyjim Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 That's what I've been doing. I built a Fatkidd distributor yesterday and took pics of the whole procedure using the little flower (macro) with the camera on a tripod. All of them were blurry. I might make a call to Kodak to see if I'm doing something wrong with their M753 camera.
