carsntrucks4you Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Here some pictures of of my Woody project. For the wood I had tried the first time decals from Uschi van der Rosten. Whats missing is the clear coat. Part of the Mercury will also a little Diorama with a palm tree Next step will be some paint on the tree
Bartster Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I love longroofs & Woodies are my favorite ones. I'll watch this one. Great choice with the color, yellow really pops next to the woodgrain.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I can't wait to see how this one will end up on that beach scene . . . keep it going.
crazyjim Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Looks like a cool build. Your palm tree looks like a few of mine after the cold weather we just had.
carsntrucks4you Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) Looks like a cool build. Your palm tree looks like a few of mine after the cold weather we just had. Cold weather in Florida? Unbelievable! Can remenber 35F° outside Devil's Ear , but 68° F insde Devil's Ear during a cavern dive. That was cold! Edited February 15, 2012 by carsntrucks4you
crazyjim Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Sunday/Monday got down to only 19 degrees here. Very cold.

Deathgoblin Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I like the looks of this so far. The woody looks good and the tree is fantastic. Good Work!
carsntrucks4you Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 Here a picture with some more parts added
carsntrucks4you Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Part of the beach scene will be a deck chair. I'm not sure about the cover fabric, so I have to search the internet for some ideas. I used 2 x 2 mm wooden strip for the chair
vwrabbit Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Love it and the added detail of the diorama! Tim
sweptline64 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 love it!!! did you make the surfboards or buy them?
Rmodeler Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Really nice color sense you have, I loove the yellow with the wood. Nice. And also the colors of the tree are spot on!
carsntrucks4you Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Here the finished deckchair. I had printed the stripes on tissue, like I usually do this with my mexican blankets.
carsntrucks4you Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 Based on a technique that Steve Boutte shared in another forum I made this Tuck'n'Roll Usually I use half round stripes to replicate Tuck'n'Roll. This method I saw the first time in a posting from Steve Boutte. Steve thanks for sharing this technique. Materials: Silicon - use your favorite one Arcyl paint i.e. Schmiecke or Lucas Tuck'n'Roll tonneau cover i.e. '59 Chevrolet El camino from amt Steps: Make a mold of the tonneau cover. Pure some of the archly paint in to the mold Let it dry Peel it of the mold Cut to the size that you need Modified seat from '49 Mercury from amy Yellow arcyl Tuck'n'Roll added to the seat
Rmodeler Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I dig the sausage-and-mustard colored seats!
Jon Cole Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Nice! But I am curious if the tree is scratchbuilt or an aftermarket item? How did you make it?
carsntrucks4you Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 There is light at the end of the tunnel. Here somme more pictures of my Woody.
