GeeBee Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 WOW ! That's one very nice build and super shiny paint work, what paint did you use on it ??
RoadRunner1083 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 That is great work!! Thanks for sharing!!
jonno356SC Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Thanks guys. I used Model Master's Enamel "French Blue" for the paint. No clear.
Erik Smith Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Nice! Great to see a Fiat mixed in here. Excellent work.
elan Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Wow, a great build on a little Fiat. It is good to see some different race car being done. Thanks foir sharing.
Peter Lombardo Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Nice little, and I do mean little, build there. Great job with the enamel top coatless paint. Now if Chrysler could learn how to market the new ones (hint, no one really thinks JLO would ever drive one) , and take advantage of the coming $5.00 a gallon price at the pump, there will be more Fiats around.
jonno356SC Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Thanks guys. @ Peter, you're right. the new cars are super-nice. they seem to be selling well in Canada
jbwelda Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 thats an excellent build there...i see you have the same problem i had with the thing: the engine deck cover doesnt open very wide. i see you have a little prop rod there that looks pretty nice. i was thinking next time i build one i am going to try to get some more movement out of the deck lid or just leave it unhinged. as i remember everything else on that kit fit and looked really nice and you have done it justice in your build. kool one.
Lunajammer Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Great to see you here Jonno, hope you hang out. This really is a great piece. It's a nice departure from the usual fare.
jonno356SC Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 Thanks Lunajammer. I certainly will!
Jantrix Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 That lil Fiat is a lot faster than it looks folks!
Eshaver Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Worked a couple of these rides in the 60's . Finding parts for anything Fiat was, well, a trip through hell. I was glad they quit importing them . Now , they're back.................! Ed Shaver
VW Dave Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Nice job on one of my favorite cars...and that MM French blue is another old favorite of mine as well.
Cochese Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 This is a pretty stellar build. Sweeter than a cherry pie with ready whip topping.
jonno356SC Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 @JBwelda. Thanks. Ya, the fit on the lid is bad. I added some Fiberglas looking tape to mimic insulation so I thought the poor fit was me. That bit of rod looks kinda cool tho
