Strange that they offer it in the US, since it's already on the market in the wrapper of Moebius, the model kit manufacturer, who tooled it up.

a Dutch mail order shop has it listed for a tad under 57 euro....3 euro lower then the price he sell the Moebius kit for.

While looking on Tower Hobbies website, I see the listing for ROG Lonestar kit, its listed at $112.99. Thats a little on the pricey side , wow

That's to support the extra couple of layers of middlemen.

Why bother? The original Moebius kit is readily available stateside at half the price.

Danno, that's what I am thinking, why would any one buy it when they could get Moebius kit for half the cost.

revell lost there mine for why would that use the same kit as moebius kits theres a lot more trucks out ther that is not out that we guys all want. a newer mack truck would be nice or a new truck kit thats not out............:blink:

This kit was released for the European market as Moebius isn't distributed as widely there. I doubt there will be very many imported to the USA with the Moebius original in north America.

I was thinking it had to be a European release for it, as it makes no sense to sell here in the states, who in there right mind would the RoG kit when they can get the moebius kit a lot cheaper I am sure.

Even then, if some one from outside the states wants one, I am sure they could get the moebius kit with shipping a lot cheaper the what the RoG kit is selling for

Remember, as the park police always say, stay on the sidewalk so you don't antagonize the flowers.

Hi there,

Whell, for me the Lonestar is very welcome from RoG because still after 1 year in the market there is NOT availiable in our local hobbie shops under Moebius brand Hope to see soon also the Great Dane reefer and the prostar.. Of course if you want it you can purchace it via internet but paying shipping costs and taxes makes it a fortune.

I have to agree that I cannot understant the reason why RoG kits are more expencive than the kits of the company that owns the toolings and had paid for them?????? The above sample was very fine and on target. As previous said from others maybe the decal paper is too expencive or the box art was designed by Picaso?????? :P :P :P Who knows?

Kostas.

Well over here on this little island, you can (and I did) buy the Moebius version for £44.99, plus shipping, that's around $71.00, but when the Revell version is going to be released, we have a date of 1st of March from Revell AG, and the price being advertised by some retailers is £44.99, so no real difference over here.

I think the main reason for Revell AG to have this kit, is that Moebius isn't really a well known brand this side of the pond, to be honest, I only bought mine as there was a good article on in the Truck Model World magazine, but Revell AG is a lot better know, and I can see them shifting more of them over here than Mobius can.

I'm hoping that someone on here that buys the RoG issue can scan in the instructions. I'm hoping that RoG made up a proper instruction sheet instead of the vague instructions of the Moebius version...
