bobthehobbyguy Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Really nice. The revised front wheel wells look a lot better. So much has been done to 49 merc's but I think a great fresh idea. Keep up the good work. Any thoughts on color? bobthehobbyguy
Trans Am Erik Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Check this out! Custom 49-51 Merc chassis built by Roseville Customs I want to modify the Chezoom frame i have for this car to incorprate the details of this frame.
Garagenous_Jim Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I'm not worthy of even attempting a build like this. But I'll watch. And I'll learn.
tooltas Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 the trunk need some work maybe a longer trunk but its a bad merc
91blaze Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 This is so cool! Don't know how I could have missed this.
Trans Am Erik Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 Thanks guys! Hopefully I can get to finishing up the rear end soon. I still haven't decided what exactly to do with the exhaust. Maybe threogh the rear valance or even side exit after the rear wheels, any suggestions, photoshops welcomed. For the front I am thinking about going with a bar grille but am wondering what a thick grille like a Ford Fusion would look like.
Trans Am Erik Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 Thanks David, that does look really cool. Lately i've been smoothing out the nose and A pilars. As soon as i have some significant progress I'll post more pics.
Trans Am Erik Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 I changed the peakes of the rear fenders so they will match up with the center of the tail lights.
Trans Am Erik Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 Thanks where did you get the rear wheels? The rear wheels are off a Jada die cast car.
B.DougBeck Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I love watching this build! Really talented stylist, great eye!
CemetaryAngel81 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Man it takes guts to do what you did,the whole thing is killer in my book!
boatsnhoes1212 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Thanks The rear wheels are off a Jada die cast car. ahh thanks do you know where to buy the jada car rims or do you have to but the whole car just for the rims?
Jantrix Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 ahh thanks do you know where to buy the jada car rims or do you have to but the whole car just for the rims? Yeah I'm afraid so. Try Pegasus Hobbies though they may have something comperable.
Del Austin Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I am really enjoying watching this build and still can't get over how well you are pulling this all together.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) This thing really has some sweet lines. It takes some talent to integrate all these design elements and have it actually work, and you're doing a fine job. Looking forward to seeing it slicked out. This is definitely something that would be worth building in 1:1. Edited July 20, 2012 by Ace-Garageguy
1930fordpickup Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 At first i was thinking what were you thinking ! But after I have watched it flow together it is taking shape rather well.
