Dr. Cranky Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 These latest engine pics with all the wiring going in place is amazing. This kind of detailing is going to keep paying off with great eye candy. Keep it going, John.
W-409 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 That sure is amazing work. It looks 1:1 Truck alot, and this would be tough one in Real Or Model... I keep watching for more, can't wait to see this one finished.
John Teresi Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 Hello.....thank you all for the kind comments.......I got both sides of the engine wired and plumbed......brakes are almost hooked up......I just need to attach the front air tanks and make some plumbing ties........thanks for looking.
ronr Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) John, All I can think of to say is AWESOME! Just AWESOME! Edited April 12, 2012 by ronr
crazyjim Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Congratulations, John. You have attained Supreme on my most hated list. Unbelievable details! Fantastic build! Your builds are a true inspiration to a mere mortal like me.
tyrone Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 John your work is like a SNIPER.... precise and dead on....lol.... INCREDIBLE WORK!!!!!!.... I LOVE WATCHING YOUR BUILDS.....
stewart Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 This is an amazing build. The engine detail is incredible. One note, it looks like the tires on the drive axles are two different sizes. I have standard-size italeri tires if you need more. I would be happy to trade if you want moreI don't have super singles though. Stewart

Stewart Stewart......thanks for the offer..........when I bought these opened kits at the NNL west.......I took a quick glance and did not notice the different sizes on the tires....... I was more concerned that I had enough to do the build........ so I decided to put the smaller size tires inside.......I know that my father will put this in a case and will never look at the bottom of the chassis........I wish your offer would have came sooner....... thanks for your concern...... but, they are glued in place........I was waiting for someone to notice.........good eye my friend........thanks anyway for your thoughts. Grumpa Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 What an incredible model John. Your attention to detail is unsurpassed. The frame and engine are by far some of the finest modeling that I have ever seen in any genre of modeling. The fact that so much of the detail will go unoticed once the build is complete is a true testament to your fidelity to realism. Good Lord man! I can smell the grease and diesel! I can't wait to see how you handle the flames!
Terry Jessee Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 few more progress photos.......thanks. John, the patina on that chassis and engine is fantastic. Looks like it's been out in the weather for a long time. Beautifully (and subtly) done. Terry
cobraman Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I am always amazed with evey new photo. I have to remind myself that this is a model and not the real thing. I don't know how you do it but please keep the updates coming.
1320wayne Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 John, your realism in the detail on your builds is stupendous. Keep up the awesome work.
modelmarknz Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Wow ....... lost for words John Damm that`s Amazing work
sjordan Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Not only are you setting yourself up for another MCM cover story, this one could be a book on its own.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I totally agree with Skip Jordan's sentiment. John, I think, it's time for a John Teresi Models Book. I'd be the first in line to buy a copy, signed, of course.
pharr7226 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 John, your detail is always amazing and your weathering is just the right amount of griminess. You always have an incredible amount of believability in your weathering without over doing it. Outstanding work as always. I'm looking forward to your next update. I'll be next in line for a Teresi book behind the good Dr.
Mooneyzs Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 John... your updates always amaze me. Killer work and detail!
Wagoneer81 Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 (edited) I would definitely purchase a copy of a Modeling How-To book written by John Teresi! I'll be sure to buy stock in Alclad BEFORE the book hits the stands... John, when you first started, I was wondering how you would manage to pull off a Freightliner conversion from a Ford Aeromax but, by golly, you seem to have pulled it off. Amazing work! You should seriously consider sending your finished cab and hood to one of our local and friendly resin casters so that the rest of us truck modelers can share in the genius that is you. I don't think that there is a Freightliner like that on the market. It really would fill a considerable gap in the aftermarket truck market. Edited April 14, 2012 by Wagoneer81
vintagedragfan Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 simply amazing work John!! such a treat to see a masters work!! do you weather all of your tires with this same method? I have noticed that your tires allways look very realistic on all your builds!! again beautiful work my friend!
