Hi! This is my latest model, and it is my fourth build of this year. It is almost box stock build except plug wires. This is one of my favorite Pontiac body styles of the 60's. It was fun to build and im pretty happy about the result.

Oh yeah. Cool. Could you get some chrome paint on the insignia's? Looks a bit bare with those big Bonneville letters color painted. Are those the 2 piece wheels Pontiac had for a while?

I think that its not impossible to put some BMF or silver paint to those Bonneville letters and emblems on front fenders. ;) I dont have any idea of those wheels.

i like it a lot and i like that era of poncho. you can try dry brushing the chrome paint on the letters if you don't want to use bare metal.there is also a chrome marker that may work tho i have not tried it on letters yet.

Thanks for those kind comments!

philo426: The suspension is in its original high so I have not made any changes to it. The only reason why the rear end is a bit low is that the chassis does not have a good connection points for the back so it was hard to even get into position correctly. However now the stance looks good to me. :)

Here are a few new picture with painted emblems. I painted them with silver paint and painting tool was a toothpick. :D The letters was not easy to paint but the end result I'm quite happy.

Matti,

Nice job, Love those old Pontiac sleds :) Mid '60s body styles are the best..

I have several Bonnys myself, and I've addressed that rear "squat" issue.

On the '65 Grand Prix I've been tinkering with, I glued styrene rod on the rear of the chassis to give it something to glue to.

Seems to work,

Cheers, Ian

Love it. Those big Ponchos from the '60's are awesome. Great job. Those do represent the 8 lug wheels Pontiac was using back then. The center section was actually the brake drum with fins for cooling, while the wheel was kind of a 'wide 8' arrangement. My dad had a 64 Grand Prix with those wheels. Loved the look, hated rotating the tires  .

Those are the 8-lug rims...a Pontiac exclusive. The outer rim held the tire and bolted to the inner part which was also the brake drum.

Great job on a cool looking BIG Pontiac! B)

I built one about 10 years ago. It was the first model I ever used BMF on. Took it out of the box it has been stored in and the paint had shrunk and the thing looks terrible!!! Guess my experiment in automotive paints was a failure!
