kruleworld Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 This is the Holden Commodore VL in race livery from Holden Racing Team as driven by Neil Crompton in 1989 The decals are by Pattos place and the body is a resin Jaymar body (made of fibreglass), sits on a shortened impala chassis, as this comes with a v8, unlike the 'suggested' donor kit, (a nissan R-32) this actually looks good and fits well. If you can put up with the pain of building a fibre-resin kit, this one is worth the effort if you're a holden fan. here's some of the construction phase scratchbuilt interior original is pictured here
Roncla Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Never thought I'd see a Commodore in the forum. Nice job
Draggon Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Wow, I really dig that! Jaymar bodies are a challenge for sure. Great job on this one, I love to see any Holdens in model form, and you did this one great justice!
groo12 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Very nice. Great to see a commodore. Pity there's not more available.
Silver Foxx Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 you have made a really nice work of this. I had this Jaymar body and gave up on trying to use it. Gave it to a friend to use on a dirt car.
surfjunke Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Great looking Holden. You did a fine build of the kit. Like the graphics & finish. The fibre-resin sounds like quite a material to work with. Will have to try it.
