aksarben Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Here is another project just finished, a 73-77 Chevy fleet side, G-machine/pro-touring style. Scratch built frame, suspension and engine. Aoshima wheels in Pegasus sleeves, wagon rod rear tires. Scratch built rotors and calipers. Rustoleum black laquer, testors one coat clear. All comments welcome. Cool Hand Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Excellent, like all the extra detail work. The chassis and engine is awesome.
JasonFL Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I would have to agree with everyone else, this thing is sick! really clean motor comp., frame, wheels, etc, nice work.
mikemodeler Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 That is a beauty, nice scratch building details and awesome paint!
wraith Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I will try to do that to my leftovers! Or ...just putting this out there for you or anyone else interested, i have one I would be willing to left go of.
aksarben Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 Thanks everyone for the great comments. That is a jaw dropper Steve!! Excellent work on the chassis and exhaust. What's the exhaust made from? Aluminum tube or solder? The exhaust is made from solder and the tips are aluminum tube. Looks like this thread got moved, it was in the "under glass" section. I guess it's not considered a "model" since it is half die cast. Oh well, it was just as fun and rewarding to build as any plastic kit I've put together. Steve
bsoder Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I'm more the 4X4 version typa guy, but I will say that really looks bada$$!..outstanding work man B)
george 53 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 WOW!!!!!! Like the box say's, "It's all in the Details"!!! Simply a BEAUTIFUL model, regardless of whatever medium you chose to start with! :D
Prostreet Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Great looking truck, Is that the engine that comes with that diecast?
aksarben Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 Great looking truck, Is that the engine that comes with that diecast? Thanks Joe, no this engine was built from scratch, the only kit pieces in it are the tranny, the water pump and the ignition coils. The engine from the die cast was really basic, not much usable except for the air cleaner. I might use it in a future project. Steve
