Yep ! The shine ! Wrap a bedsheet around Stepanik's neck , quick !

The Merc is dead on , Mike ! I can see it on the hood and the roof line now . Problem being , it's such a light color that it's really tough to pick up the pearl nuances in photos!

A wee bit too much violet on the Willys , it's much more subtle . The trunk lines are extremely exaggerated also . You know far more than I when it comes to photography ! Thank you for your efforts , I really appreciate it !

I just now saw at the bottom of the first post, it states enamels thin with lacquer  , have these been clear coated?, this past weekend at the club meeting, a member was showing me a body he painted using an A/B, and the shine was amazing , amazing that it had not been clear coated or polished

The correct spelling is Stepanek.

Extremely nice painting, Donn. I'm loving them.

Sorry , Jim ! I'm glad you like them !

Jonathan ,

That's the magic of enamels! The colors are standard base coats overlaid with mist coats of Pearl X laced Testors clear topcoat ! When you polish out the enamels sans clearcoat , you still end up with a fantastic shine and finish !

I thought as much...it is tough to get the subtleness...but I will get it..I did sharpen it a bit...not as much as the merc, the original is a copy of yours.

Believe it or not , you've captured both ! What it looks like under the light from one standpoint , move and the secondary pearl coat shifts with you !

Virgil's Cobra does the exact same thing ! You know this ! You're the one that turned me on to them in the first place . Reds , coppers , blacks , grays , and oranges are next on the never ending list ! Lol !

All I can say is that you made those "MO SHINY" Mike! Nice job on adding to the already deep colors Donn laid down.

My eyes hurt from looking at them and now I am inspired even more to start spraying!

Forget it , Woodsie !

You still haven't paid the $500 freight fee for me transporting that hood in my pocket all the way from Pgh ! Lol! Looking froward to seeing you , buddy ! Couple more weeks !

Donn...I would love to see a white color with the different flakes.

Mike ,

I have it ! One of my customers gave me a large jar of it awhile back . Need to use , Gasp ! , laquer for it though ! I think MicroMark is the only company that I know of that still carries Floquil in laquer form . I' m getting' there , slow but sure . Too many shows to get ready for right now !

Hope you will come down to the ALABAMA show one of these fine days, Donn. It'd be great to see you there.

Doc ,

It's on the list to attend ! Had it not been for the new job , we would have been there two years ago . The loss of 4 weeks vacation puts a cramp in my maneuverability ! Lol !
