Just started on this last night. Using the Revell snap 2010 Mustang GT convertible kit, and a 2010 Mustang GT500 kit. Ive seen a couple guys cut the hood out and swap the chassis and engine into the convertible kit, but I havent seen anyone actually change the bumpers etc. Figured it would be a good project to go alongside my 2011 Camaro SS convertible

I started by hacking off the front and rear bumpers and front support, and replacing them with the GT500 ones. I still need to cut out the wiper cowl and replace it, and the rad support with the full detail ones.

This project will be slow going , as I work away from town for a week, and am home for a week. I just wanted to post up that Im alive and still building, lol. Any comments and critisisms are welcome.

I am confused. the work is absolutely first class but it would be easier to follow if you explained where the red body convertible body came from?

i know the gold body comes from the snap kit.

Sorry,

joe.

Jaydar, there is a thread for the camaro convertible . It started out as a 2011 Amt convertible promo , I did the same type of treatment on the front end to make it full detail. Check the topic "2010 camaro SS full detail convertible"

Well now...I am doing a similar job on a '10 Mustang GT convertible, just not making it into a Shelby. You are off to a great start and keep up the good work!

Mike,

Could you show a side shot of the gold body so i can see where you made your cuts at the front and rear. I would really love to try this.

thanks,

joe.

Sorry it has taken so long to get updates. I have a really hard time working on models when I am gone up north to work for a week at a time, then rushing to get other things done on my week home.

I got the engine bay all cut and put in, as well as the wiper cowl. please excuse the iphone quality pictures.
