mackinac359 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I started a new thread because the in progress thread ran askew. I finished the 365 after work today and shot some photos. The Kit Form Services supersingle steer wheel and tires are sweet. The rear wheels are the kit wheels with the holes filled and new holes drilled to mimic 2 hole rims. The DPF (diesel particulate filter) and the new exhaust standpipe are made from Evergreen plastic tube and covered with Bare Metal Foil. The batterybox cover was made from Don Mills treadplate. The 377 kit cab was reworked for a modern style, I sawed off the molded on fenders. I used the Unibilt air bags from the kit sleeper to make the Unibilt Daycab mounts. The careful eye will note that the right mirror is REALLY crooked. The glue set before I realized it was crooked. I attempted to break the glue bond but ended up removing a chunk of paint I decided to live with the crooked mirror rather than risk removing a bigger chunk of paint and having a mess on my hands. I have more photos up on my site www.timstrucks.com Thanks for looking! Tim

rottin1 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Everytime I look at your work, I am amazed at your skill and knowledge of the peterbilt family of trucks. Very very nice as always!!!! I like the plastic on the seat too!! Nice touch of realism. Great idea on filling in the holes on the budd wheels as well. I have thought about doing that myself with some of my future builds and after seeing several pictures of the results, I like it and am going to try it. Nice work Tim!!
Old Albion Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Superb!!! I can see this truck parked on the dealers forecourt. Great Work Tim. PS Is red cab and hood with black frame the official Peterbilt Colours?
mackinac359 Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Thanks guys ! As for the color choice, A Peterbilt always looks good in red. The 2007/08 models "official" brochure color was red. For 2005-06 the fleet was blue. Tim
NorthWest29 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 WELL DONE :!: :!: Complete with decals on the frame and plastic coverings on the new seats. Details, details, details.
Casey429 Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 that is excellent! Now it needs sent out for a new dump bed and lift axle.
Old Albion Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 If i had just bought this Pete there would be only one place I would send it for the Lift Axle and Dump Body... The Turbo590 Workshops. Wow!! What a combination. A Timbilt Pete with a Kurtbilt dump body.

Twist67 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Hi there, Tim, You made again an awesome job on that. The KFS wheels are really great and I often thought about ordering some of those but they are a little bit expensive..Is there someone who is selling them from the USA?The changing from euro into british punds is very high... Cheers,Chris
mackinac359 Posted June 23, 2007 Author Posted June 23, 2007 Chris I buy them direct from KFS and end up paying more because of the money conversion. Right now, KFS is about the only reliable or currently in business supplier of resin wheels of this sort serving the USA. Tim
Twist67 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Tim, okay, so I have to buy them from KFS.....Sometimes the is a guy from Austria on ebay where you could get some kfs parts.....maybe this is also worth a try.I think I´ll have to look at.Thanks for the information.
lonewolf Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 fantastic build as usual Tim and thanks for the quick reply on the "Movin' On" question.
