I'm with Doc, great details so far, that hood latch/striker plate is beautiful!!

What did you use for the washer bottle hose and clamps on the fender well?

I couldn't help but notice that you removed the plating from the valve covers, air cleaner and wheels. Are you going to send them out to be replated or are you going to Allclad them?

Thanks, the hose is the same stuff I use for spark plug wires. 30 gauge wrapping wire. In photographs, that hose seems to be more or less the same as spark plug wires. The two hoses that go from the pump to the windshield seems to be a bit thinner so not sure what I will use for that yet.And the clamps are thin strips of those pans that pies and cakes come in. I dont think I will use them again becuase they will break if you bend them too many times. I will probably try a soda pop can next. And the wheels I will alclad.

Yeah , this is going to look nice ! I like what you've done so far . I agree , the hood latch is great ! I've tried but never could make one that looked right . Thanks for the idea !

I built one of these kits a while back and the engine is really sharp looking . A little detailing and it will be great !

Keep posting .

I have to agree with the others - that hood latch/striker plate makes a big difference. Kudos for figuring out a neat way to add more detail to the underhood area. I plan on copying your design when I get back to my Nova. (I probably won't be the only one ;) )

Have you picked a paint color yet? I can't wait to see this one posed next to your Fairlane!

Thanks for the kind words. The striker plate isnt hard to do . I just tool some thin styrene and drill 3 or 4 small holes real close together and used a sharp knife to make the slot. Then I cut a hook shape out of the same styrene, put it thru the slot and put a dab of glue underneath to keep it there. Anybody can do it. As far as the color... I painted the hood already. I wanted to make it butternut yellow but I don't have butternut yellow but I had ford phoenician yellow. Close enough for me.
