bill_rules Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Picked a pair of these up, wondering what kit they came in. One is molded in white and one in blue. Sprue is marked F 2502221 Thanks, Bill
bill_rules Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 Thanks Dave. The blue is identical, with the same sprue number. It's missing the seat, but that gives me an excuse to start dabbling in a little casting.
440 Dakota Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 if the blue one is dark blue then orginial Bigfoot monster truck
bill_rules Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) It is dark blue. Mighty small bikes to go with such big trucks. I like to pick up the little extra's that used to be included in kits whenever I get the chance. Thanks all. Edited March 30, 2012 by bill_rules
bill_rules Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 After doing some more searching, I think the white bike is from the AMT GMC Jimmy Bushwacker kit. Sprue doesn't match the one in the Bigfoot model. The Bigfoot bike appears to be a larger dirt bike rather than a 70cc or so trail bike. Like to have one from the Bigfoot kit.
Joker Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Here is my build up for inspiration. James aka Joker
bill_rules Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 Those are some nice looking bikes James. I'm saving your pics for reference when I start mine. Thanks! Bill
hvymtl Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 I would say '70's amt ford van the 6 wheeled one cant remember for sure. Michael
hvymtl Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 It's missing the seat, but that gives me an excuse to start dabbling in a little casting. Wow wish i had that luck with a brand new casting kit and resin and me itching to do some major casting. Michael
bill_rules Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 Pic I found of the AMT GMC Jimmy Bushwacker w/ trail bike... sprue is an exact match, not to say this tree wasn't included in other truck kits.
Austin T Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 This is surely a Honda Trail 70,I should know as I have a 1972 Honda Trail 70 type C in my garage. This is one of the funnest bikes to ride around out there.
Mark Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Pic I found of the AMT GMC Jimmy Bushwacker w/ trail bike... sprue is an exact match, not to say this tree wasn't included in other truck kits. Check out the decal sheet in the Jimmy..."Mustang Ranch, Silver Springs, Nevada"...
Casey Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Pic I found of the AMT GMC Jimmy Bushwacker w/ trail bike... sprue is an exact match. Look again, it's not an exact match. The "F" sprue flap is missing, as well as the other sprue flap in the diagonally opposite corner. I think yours is from a later kit. I did see a Bigfoot kit on eBay last night which shows all the parts, so maybe check that one against your blue parts.
bill_rules Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 (edited) Never noticed the missing flap, my eyes were fixed on the parts. I saw the Bigfoot, not a match. The blue I have is identical to the white one posted above, including the tree #. Austin, I'll get back with you later today. Bill Edited March 31, 2012 by bill_rules
440 Dakota Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 not sure what issue Bigfoot you saw but heres a pic from AMT #6791 Bigfoot issued in 1984 and has the same tree number F2502221 little trail bike
bill_rules Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 This is the one I came across on EBAY. Now I'm wondering how many different 1/25-24th scale bikes are out there.
Joker Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 I believe it's the same mini bike ..mine came from a monster truck @ Bill y..you're welcome..
Casey Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 This is the one I came across on EBAY. That's a later version of, and not the original Bigfoot, so if that kit is complete, it looks like the minibike was no longer included at that point. Now I'm wondering how many different 1/25-24th scale bikes are out there. There are quite a few. Scale Auto did a bike kit history in their Harley/bike themed issue with Willie G Davidson on the cover in the mid-'90s.

Sounds like a cool new thread: "History of 1/25 scale motorcycles" whether included in combo kits, or stand-alone kits Hint, hint! I've got the two dirt bikes included in this kit for photo reference if someone starts the thread
Joker Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Sounds like a cool new thread: "History of 1/25 scale motorcycles" whether included in combo kits, or stand-alone kits @ Jeff ..I believe the dirt bike in your kit is a Huskavarna pix from my stash

You're right Casey. I was mistaking the tree in the bottom left for a bike. I should have looked more closely at the pic.
Austin T Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Come on amt!Make a parts pack with the go-cart and all of your bikes!
jw78z28 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Come on amt!Make a parts pack with the go-cart and all of your bikes! OH That would be super cool. It's taken me a few years to round up some parts for a few builders i've collected. allmost have three of the truimph bikes. and 1 1/2 of the gocarts.
Chuck Most Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Come on amt!Make a parts pack with the go-cart and all of your bikes! You might be thinking of Revell for the bikes. AMT did a Triumph, but revell did a couple of others, including a Triumph.
